Unless something happened I’m not sure I understand the idea of releasing McManus. Maybe McManus wanted out? Not sure but I don’t get why you don’t have them compete in camp. What if Smack goes full Brett Conway? Either way, for better or worse, full steam ahead with Trey Smack!

@GGd345vv Big Sky is the camera system used for the actual 16k screen format. You’re right, they do all that, mostly at the mini-Sphere in Burbank. After rendering it’s mixed with live elements (think Trey in a floating “balloon” or inside a doorframe).

Phish could EASILY extend this mini-residency. Word of mouth and FOMO have created a buzz that’s palpably growing.
But they won’t. They didn’t in 2024 and they won’t this time. Trey is stubborn that way and they’ve planned 9 shows with no repeats.
But damn I’d love to be wrong

@GGd345vv Yeah I mean the complexities you mention are real and substantial. Sphere is unique because the visuals require proprietary Big Sky technology that can’t be used elsewhere so they try to spread the sunk cost over as many shows as feasible.
I just hope they come back in 2027/28.
