DPDK game: socket() involves lot of context switching, signaling and control plane information. To avoid this, 5G uses DPDK(Data plane development kit). 5G directly take control of the network card(the stove), bypasses kernel to achieve high speed.

When the 5G code needs to set up a conection b/w a User Equipment(UE) and the Core Network, it(5G framework) triggers a socket() call. 2) Kernel handles the TCP/IP rules, 5G fw simply calls the kernel and asks it handles TCP/IP and rest of the heavy lifting.
