Very excited to share our paper on post-fire moss transplantation 🔥! We tested a novel approach using moss transplants to overcome hydrophobic post-fire conditions and enhance recovery in boreal peatlands. Did it work? You’ll have to find out below: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

🥳 we sampled our 15th site today. We're officially half way our #InterPeat pan-european survey. Lakkasuo bog, close to @HyytialaHY, had the honor. Tomorrow travel to Sweden, to #StoreMosse national park.

The initial data are in! Still lots to do, but the variation in heather moisture content in #TheGreatFuelMoistureSurvey are below. The majority of moisture contents varying between 60 and 100%. So the next question.....what is causing this variation?

We followed Linneus' footsteps the last few days. @GGranath hosted a #Sphagnum identification course in Uppsala. We collected moss along Linneus' botanical trail and studied them in the lab. 🙏 Thanksfull for this opportunity. w @yvettelgenkamp #InterPeat #peatland

@GGranath There's nothing inherently wrong with the practice - it's just interesting to see if you can ever answer "yes"!

One of my niche hobbies is pointing out examples of Betteridge's law in paper titles. "Carbon farming: Are soil carbon certificates a suitable tool for climate change mitigation?" sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
