"In any way possible, of course." Even this dinner and simply taking Kaga somewhere where she can hopefully focus on eating and not stress, was such an attempt

"Please, implying I can't vanquish them myself~?" A soft giggle before turning back to Kaga, fully serious. "Everything I do, every decision I make, I do in service of Sakura" The Empress exists to serve the nation, not the other way around.

"Is it truly? To defend and care for Sakura, it's people and it's interest is my very reason for being. From the smallest destroyer to mightiest carrier, I would move heaven and earth for each one and their safety" each and every member is immensely precious to her.

"Afraid of losing a friend, and I am equally afraid to lose any citizen of the empire, every last one is a precious, irreplaceable girl." Putting her menu down, now decided as she looked at Kaga.

“If it was merely to greet you coming back, that would be true-“ “But as it was to make sure you were well and doing ok, I consider your well being far more important than any mission report.”

“Thirdly, even if I did, it would risk seeming disingenuous or that I didn’t much care.” Typical flagship, not even the most menial thing is done without thinking it over several times

Sigh- even getting a useful answer out of her seems hard, oh well. "It is a start-" If she wasn't so personally invested she should have sent someone else to take care of kaga because... this may take a while
