Maddox arrived at the end of 2022. His story is one of the most brutal rescues we’ve ever seen, but we managed to save him 🧡 Maddox was beaten until he was blinded by an evil person who then tried to feed him to crocodiles (pictures 1 & 2) We suspect he still does not have any vision, but he leads a happy life here with us 🥰 Unfortunately, animal cruelty is extremely common in Sri Lanka & with a lack of effective animal cruelty laws, most crimes go unpunished with only a very small penalty being given if someone IS convicted. In 2024, we hope to help more dogs like Maddox. But we can only do it with your support. We receive no government funding & rely solely on donations to keep our sanctuary running.
