If you want to understand where we are at this moment in Trump’s administration, all you have to do is look at that picture of Marco Rubio wearing a pair of oversized Florsheim shoes.

Good fact-based reporting is under pressure in our industry. Today, @nytimes publisher AG Sulzberger made his first ad, "encouraging you today to support any news organization." It's a reminder of how important this reporting is, regardless of who produces it. Have a listen here.

On this day in 1925, the first issue of The New Yorker was published. 🗞️ 💫
As we close out "A Century of The New Yorker," let's take it back to the beginning when the publication was just becoming a reality.
After returning from Europe following World War I, founder Harold Ross set out to launch a weekly magazine for a sharp, urban New York audience. His wife, journalist Jane Grant, helped secure funding from Raoul Fleischmann, whose family name was already well known to American kitchens.
With funding in place, Ross circulated this prospectus to introduce the magazine to literary and journalistic circles—famously declaring that The New Yorker would not be “edited for the old lady in Dubuque.”

The “billionaire” who hides his tax returns. The “genius” who hides his college grades. The “businessman” who bankrupted 3 casinos and lost over $1B in 10 yrs. The “playboy” who pays for sex. The “virologist” who knows more than Dr. Fauci. The “leader of the free world” who said he “fell in love” with North Korea’s Kim Jong-un. The “Christian” who doesn’t go to church. The “President” who committed TREASON by turning a blind eye to Russian bounties on our soldiers. The “unifier” who calls white supremacists fine people. The “philanthropist” who defrauds charity. The “patriot” who dodged the draft five times. The “innocent man” who refuses to testify. The “President” who takes no responsibility. The “tough, strong” man who wears makeup and hairspray. The “deal maker” who has yet to close a deal.
THIS IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES who claims he’s making America great? 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Si no somos capaces de decir la verdad sobre una novela fake como 'La ciudad de las luces muertas' (¿qué no es fake ya en este país?) o sobre un premio que se ha convertido en un auténtico apagón literario, apaga y vámonos. @CreeOficial @NexoPlataforma @OtraLeyElectorl @ESOegonon
