A US citizen who is a high-risk contact of a patient with Ebola was admitted to a hospital in Prague, Czech Republic, early Thursday morning. Czech authorities have stressed there is no risk to the public after the country agreed to accept him into the country. The person, who is identified only as a US male medical doctor, is one of the six high-risk contacts of an American patient who tested positive for Ebola. The others, including the positive patient, will be treated in Germany.

The lawmaker, who represents Gwale Local Government Area, home to Governor Abba Yusuf, was formally received on Thursday by former Kano State governor and NDC leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, at his Maitama residence in Abuja. Troops of Sector 1, Operation UDO KA, have destroyed a suspected ritual shrine and recovered improvised explosive devices during an operation against alleged members of the Indigenous People of Biafra and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network, in Imezi Owa, Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State. The Nigerian Army disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday by the acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Lt. Col. Olabisi Ayeni. According to the statement, the operation was carried out on May 6 in collaboration with other security agencies following intelligence reports on alleged terrOr! st collaborators in the community. The Army said troops on an intelligence-led patrol came under att++k from g+nmen operating from a building allegedly used as a hideout by IPOB and ESN members. It stated that three soldiers sustained injuries during the exchange of g+nfire and were evacuated to a military medical facility for treatment. "While troops were advancing on foot to the community, they were att++ked from a building, resulting in injuries to three personnel. "Despite the att++k, troops maintained operational dominance, foiled the attack and secured the general area," the statement read.

The Niger State Police Command has arrested a 13-year-old boy for allegedly r@ping a 4-year-old girl in Bosso. The spokesperson for the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, May 22, 2026 said the suspect, identified as Ibrahim Sani, lured the minor to a dilapidated building where he s3xually ass@ulted her. According to the Abiodun, the suspect threatened to k!!! the child if she informed anyone. "On 14th May 2026 at about 10pm, a report received at Bosso Div indicated that on the same date, at about 11am, one Ibrahim Sani 13yrs, residing behind Bosso Primary School, took a 4yr old girl to a dilapidated building in the same area and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her, after which he threatened to k!! her if she attempt to inform anyone," the statement read. "On receipt of the report, the victim was immediately rushed to Police Clinic Minna for a medical examination. "The suspect was also apprehended and he confessed to the crime. "The case is still under investigation and will soon be transferred to SCID for necessary action."
