@AngusBMacNeil Because 1) they’re a privately owned business, 2) budget Airlines whole model is pushing prices down which includes what they pay Airports. As a business that needs to make a profit they have to make money elsewhere

You want the NATO allies to join you in a war you started without ever consulting these allies about the war or explaining your war aims. We’re meant just to meekly fall in line. You recently supported a US invasion of a NATO ally (Denmark/Greenland) but now you want these same allies to join your war. Your president disparaged and misrepresented the role of NATO allies in Afghanistan. But now you want them to join with you again in a war of your making. You went to war with Iran without a thought of how to keep the Strait of Hormuz open and without involving your allies in the matter. But now you want the NATO allies to bail you out, even though there’s still no plan for Hormuz. You want the NATO allies to join you in a war in which you still cannot articulate the endgame. Or what victory would look like. You went to war thinking the Iranian regime would quickly topple, that Tehran would not attack the Gulf States or close Hormuz. Why would we align with such Epic Stupidity? You and other know-nothing blowhards started this war all on your own. You can finish it on your own. If you’re able to …
Lindsey Graham@LindseyGrahamSC

Just spoke to @POTUS about our European allies’ unwillingness to provide assets to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning, which benefits Europe far more than America. I have never heard him so angry in my life. I share that anger given what’s at stake. The arrogance of our allies to suggest that Iran with a nuclear weapon is of little concern and that military action to stop the ayatollah from acquiring a nuclear bomb is our problem not theirs is beyond offensive. The European approach to containing the ayatollah’s nuclear ambitions have proven to be a miserable failure. The repercussions of providing little assistance to keep the Strait of Hormuz functioning are going to be wide and deep for Europe and America. I consider myself very forward-leaning on supporting alliances, however at a time of real testing like this, it makes me second guess the value of these alliances. I am certain I am not the only senator who feels this way.

@HLTCO It’s an utterly stupid idea, reflecting both the Americanisation and infantilisation of the game. I’ve seen some really high quality 0-0’s with proper tension and jeopardy. It’s possible to appreciate good defending if you have an attention span of more than 5 seconds.

I can't stress how important it was to have had this at launch. I, and many others, spoke about this extensively while S2 fanboys insisted it wasn't that easy. This update is 100% a result of people online complaining about the Switch 2's backwards compatibility. A HUGE win imo.

When Football Was Better
When Football Was Better@FootballInT80s·
On this day in 1983: The brilliant Cup Winners Cup demonstrated it’s worth again. After a creditable 0-0 draw in Germany, Alex Ferguson’s Aberdeen beat Bayern Munich 3-2 in the quarter-final, second leg. Surely one of Pittodrie’s finest ever nights.

@TheFergusonWay Totally unsuited to being United manager. It was too big for him. Whoever appointed him and kept him on after Spurs/Grimsby/Brentford/Everton/Wolves etc has a lot to answer for

We’ll Never Die 🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪
I get the push now for Casimero to stay but if Manchester United want to progress as a team we need a younger more mobile option in midfield than Casimero. If he was open to staying and playing as a squad player, playing every second game or so then definitely, his experience in and around the squad would be invaluable. He’d be well able for those early games in Europe for example. No way should he be starting week in week out for Manchester United next season though. Our midfield needs serious investment, Ultimately, Casimero should head to Saudi or MLS football IMO He deserves to go out on a high 🇾🇪🇾🇪🇾🇪

@rkidrkid82 @elijah_manuwa You’re the one really focussed on the spending and trying to make comparisons, in fact this whole curious comparison is your idea. I simply stated that he didn’t spend much in his first 2 1/2 years which is true.

@GJB77DBAD @elijah_manuwa And I even said the only difference is the price tag, if this was 1988 Sesko, mbeumo, Cunha would had easily costed 1m, 2m, 2m… stop focusing on the price tag because money has advanced now.. how ever, the science of football has always remained the same

Fans wanted a manager with clear identity and Amorim was the perfect man. The same fans said he’s too stuborn and should change his identiy for the players. Truth is, the fanbase is confused and some, even legend seems to enoy this era of United and are ready for the next target.

@rkidrkid82 @elijah_manuwa Seriously? Ferguson won 3 of Aberdeens 4 historic League titles, 4 of their 8 Cups, their only European trophies beating Bayern, Real & German champs Hamburg, the last non-Old Firm League title & the only Scottish team to win 2 European pots. Up there with Clough for miraculous

@GJB77DBAD @elijah_manuwa What was done at arberdeen that was so superior to sporting cp? Genuinely. You’re talking about position and off field behaviour when the world clearly stated the results matters most , so what was so superior that Fergie done with Aberdeen that Amorim didn’t do with sporting?

@rkidrkid82 @elijah_manuwa …want to defend the worst United manager in my 41 years by comparison Sexton’s a better bet. I know he never kept a back 5 for 85 minutes of a Cup Final, or refused to watch Penalties while losing to a team 3 divisions below, but he’s before my time so that’s a debate for others

@rkidrkid82 @elijah_manuwa No, just no. Ferguson at Aberdeen is light years beyond Amorin at Sporting. Any comparison based on the broad stroke subjective word ‘struggling’ will work but this one falls down as soon as we get to pedigree, results, League position and off-field behaviour. If you really….
