' ...had a friend back when I was in Mira- Maroon. They- well, were a detective until some incident happened and... I don't know where they are now. ' { They stare at the metal ceiling. They can't say what really happened—they'll sound crazy, won't they? Nobodyll believe it. }

' ...vaguely. But you remind me of an old friend. It's a long story. ' { They glance over at them, their expression becoming a tad more guarded than normal. } ' ...and if I tell it I'll probably sound like Lime and how they are with all the alien talk- '

' never in my years of working for Mira have I ever heard anyone call you that. But I'll take your word for it. ' { They sigh for the fifth time that night, rolling over to stare at the ceiling. } ' ...yknow, you remind me of someone. '

{ Sage shakes their head. } ' this is what I mean. You'd think with how much time you spend with Purple you'd be more confident. ' { They lay down, stretching out before rolling over to face them. } ' ...I suppose it is part of your charm, though. '

' you folded under zero pressure when I told you to sleep here. ' { they give them a deadpan stare, clearly not in the mood for the childish acts. } ' Besides, hate to break it to you, but you are. Even if you don't notice it yourself. .

' ...you should sleep. Also you can have a smile and still be pessimistic. ' { They yawn. Is exhaustion contagious? It feels like it. } ' but seriously. You gotta actually have a spine sometimes, Red. Stop being a pushover. '

{ They sigh, hopping onto the edge of a bed, exhaustion starting to get to them as well.} ' yknow, pessimism's saved me before. A lot. You should try it sometime, the handbook doesn't say anything against it either. '

' knowing you, you'd probably accidentally trip and break your neck on the tile. ' { They roll their "eyes", instinctively shuffling closer. } ' Considering how you are now, I don't doubt that'd happen. '

{ They look away, expression softening just a bit. Enough to be noticeable. } ' ...Well you worry me. That's your fault. I just... Care. Besides, I'd rather not have our captain drop dead in the hall. ' { they head towards medbay, still staying close to Red. Just in case. }

' ...Yeah. Fine. ' { They sigh, hoping it's just exhaustion. They're tired of seeing them overwork themselves half to death. } ' As long as you sleep I'm fine with it. '

{ Sage shakes their head, pulling them up. } ' well there isn't exactly anywhere else that's good to sleep in. I usually sleep in the kitchen, though. So I'm not the best to ask. ' { They look them up and down, trying to figure out why the captains so tired anyway. }

' ..well I do work here. I was... Cleaning. But I saw you so. Cmon. It's not a good idea to be sleeping out in the open. ' { They hold out their hand, waiting for them to take it. } ' there's medbay. I recommend sleeping there- Blue won't care and the beds are comfy. '

' ... Red. Cmon. ' { Sage nudges them harder, trying to get them to move. } ' at least find a better spot, like... Under the sink? No thats- don't listen to me. Just... Let's go. ' { They're debating just hauling the captain up themselves. But they're giving them a moment. }

{ Sage sighs, having just gotten back from the kitchen and dealing with whatever Yellow and Brown were up to, walking over to them and nudging their shoulder. } ' hey. Sleepyhead. Not a good idea to take a nap here. God knows what the others are gonna be up to. '
