@iamtommythorn @xilinx @Avnet @CERN Indeed, you can use it as a standard SoC and leave the PL unused, but not the opposite. By using the JTAG, you can access the PL and program a device for debugging purposes, but AFAIK, what you are actually doing here under the hood is downloading a stripped-down uboot to the PS
