@Jason9393476398 @LeeAndersonMP_ He's just put £50k into a tax calculator, rather than £25k twice. On the figures he's posted, only one of the working couple is actually working and is on £50k and the other isn't earning. Pure nonsense from Lee Anderson as usual.

@LeeAndersonMP_ Are you including employers national insurance in that calculation? As they would ‘only’ lose £7,000 between them. Compared to a single person who would lose 10,500.

Just throwing this one out there as I was asked this question earlier today. A couple both working with a combined income of £50,000 would pay £11,500 a year in income tax and national insurance, Another couple receiving £50,000 in benefits including Universal Credit, Personal Independent Payment, Housing Benefit, Income Support and Child Benefit would pay no income tax or national insurance, keeping the full £50,000. Should the non-working couple on £50,000 a year pay the same amount of income tax and national insurance as the working couple? Please leave a comment below.

Help me out here guys. 1. I thought Kanye West apologised multiple times? 2. He has disclosed he has mental health issues which effect what he says. 3.Didn’t we make allowances for John Davidison for saying the N word (as we should) ..why not the same for Kanye and bipolar disorder? Genuine ask.

A reminder of when Sports Personality of the Year did a fun item in the studio. From 1996, here’s Frankie Dettori, Tim Henman, Donovan Bailey, Denise Lewis and Frank Bruno taking penalties against Peter Shilton - with Jimmy Hill as referee. Great days.

Pure socialism. Feeding your own child is the primary duty of any parent. You’re not ‘out of pocket’ for doing so. And breakfast clubs aren’t free, because other taxpayers are paying for them.
UK Prime Minister@10DowningStreet

Parents shouldn’t be out of pocket by setting their children up for school. That’s why we are rolling out free breakfast clubs and from next September, schools will be required to limit branded items of uniform. Saving families £500 and giving kids the best start in life.

Just out of curiosity, @bbcquestiontime, don't you usually have guests that are related to the area in which you broadcast? Please enlighten us on Zia Yusuf's connection to Shrewsbury. The town has a Lib Dem council and a Labour MP. Why is an unelected bureaucrat from Reform appearing? Oh, and will you allow audience questions about Reform's Russian traitor, or Farage's finances, or Farage's missing Register of Interests? Thanks, a concerned citizen.

Tomorrow, Question Time is in Shrewsbury Joining Fiona on the panel are James Murray, Nigel Huddleston, Annabel Denham, Zack Polanski and Zia Yusuf 9pm on the @BBCNews channel, @BBCiPlayer and @BBCSounds, or @BBCOne at 10:40pm Apply now: eu.castitreach.com/ag/mentorn/que… #bbcqt

I don't know who needs to hear this but saying "yourself" isn't a fancy way of saying "you". The word "yourself" is a reflexive pronoun. It's only correct when the subject and object of the verb are the same. For example “you hurt yourself.” So no, it’s not "I’m voting for yourself" or "It happened to yourself." It’s just "you". I mainly blame The Traitors for popularising this linguistic crime.

The Rock’s daughter, Ava, has doubled down on her remarks about the late Charlie Kirk. The NXT GM previously posted on her Instagram story: “If you want people to have kind words when you pass, you should say kind words when you’re alive.” Following backlash, Ava responded with another message: “and I’ll stand behind this. be kind, now more than ever.”

@DavidWa06435675 @IEXiiGE @tc1415 The original tweet was not just about drivers 😂 it was about a range of RMT union members working for TFL in a range of roles. A bot could probably grasp that so maybe your tweets should be automated.

@GaryLoxley @IEXiiGE @tc1415 I think - I know - that most Singapore lines have no drivers, and the remaining lines are phasing them out. And it's drivers that we're talking about. Like when they automated ticket buying at stations. Other jobs, ones that need a bit of intelligence, are best left to people.

@GaryLoxley @IEXiiGE @tc1415 Remember the olden days when department stores and apartment blocks paid - actually paid, with money - employees to operate the lifts? And petrol stations employed people to fill your tank? Good times! I guess monkeys weren't available. Singapore shows you dont need even monkeys.

I miss normal bread. Fluffy, bland, unobtrusive, absorbent, thinly sliced bread, that soaks up butter and efficiently sandwiches a filling without messing up the flavour. It's being made extinct by bloody holey sourdough, which is a grey, chewy, vacuous, fusty tasting, horrible woke alternative that doesn't soak up butter, can't be sliced thinly, doesn't toast properly, tangs like it's gone damp and foetid, makes a godawful sandwich and is like noshing on a poncy porous plimsoll.
