England wins tripple gold at the European Senior Team Chess Championship 2024! 🏆 After the intense last round in Terme Catez, Slovenia, England 1 in 50+ section emerged as the Winner of the event thanks to better tiebreaks (Olympiad Sonneborn Berger) than Hungary and Italy who had the same score of 14 match points. The tiebreaks determined Hungary silver, and Italy won bronze medal. In the 65+ section, England 1 emerged as the sole Winner of the event scoring 17 match points. Slovakia 1 came second with 15 match points and Slovenia 1 claimed bronze with 14 match points. England’s Women’s team clinches European Women’s Senior Team Chess Champion title in the 50+ section, and Germany wins the title in the 65+ section.
