Today @SenGonzalez33 introduced #SB252, which will require @CalPERS and @CalSTRS to divest the $11 Billion they have invested in oil and gas companies. Proud to be partnering with @FossilFreeCA and @CFA_United on this important legislation!

🚨BREAKING🚨7 community members were arrested today for operating a solar panel in front of @Bellwetherdst's oil tank farms. This comes after Hilco promised a "sustainable redevelopment in 2019" and the city approved permits to keep the tanks open earlier this week 😠

On 10/19 we blocked off the main entrance of @HilcoGlobal's site in South Philly. They want to keep poisoning our community with cancerous benzene and fossil fuels. Until they meet our demands of a safe, green, just redevelopment we won't let them keep working in peace.

On 10/15 we played baseball on @HilcoGlobal's abandoned field in South Philly. We know how to take care of our land and put it to good use for the community. Hilco needs to step up, create public programs for kids, and give vacant land to the community

FUN FACT: @HilcoGlobal has never held an in person community meeting to discuss their plans to build warehouses on our doorsteps. They were supposed to on 9/20 so we went to their office a few days earlier to help them be transparent 🫧 Then the canceled and called us violent.

Philly residents will be protesting and taking action against Hilco until they meet our demands:
1) Create a CARBON FREE redevelopment
2) Involve residents in decision making
3) Sign a legally binding Community Benefits Agreement - so they can't go back on their promises again

UPDATE: For 150 years, owners of the Philadelphia PES oil refinery gave city residents cancer and asthma. In 2019 the plant blew up so we took action to shut it down for good. But now the new owners
