That is exactly the point. If a million people can suspend their day for a trophy parade, then Kenyans clearly have the numbers, energy and time.
What they lack is “Being angry enough” and even Ruto knows that and that is why he even increased fuel prices.
Also, Ruto has not finyad people enough for them to treat politics as survival. People are suffering, yes, but many are still suffering in a way they can negotiate with.
They can complain, joke, trend hashtags, go to work, watch football, attend rallies and go back home.
When the pain becomes impossible to negotiate with, nobody will need to beg young people to show up.
They will show up because staying home will feel more dangerous than going out.
Kenya is angry, but not angry enough.

@C_NyaKundiH But this is a shame to the young people. What do you mean that we have a million people who can suspend their days activity just to go see a mock trophy? Kwani hakuna kitu ingine tunapenda ivo than ball ya England coz why are we not seeing this energy anywhere else?

7AM NAIROBI CBD AERIALVIEW: COMPLETE GHOST TOWN.
At that time, the city was dead silent... no matatus, no private cars, no motorbikes, no shops open. Just a few pedestrians walking through an empty CBD.
Looks like the whole country is in total lockdown over this fuel crisis. Nairobi loses Ksh 5 billion per major shutdown.
20-30 more of these and we’re all back to the village. Mr President, sink subsidies in NOW and fix this before it explodes!Yesterday in Comoros, protests over fuel prices left one person dead.
Kenya, wake up. This is not a drill.

I am informed that several matatu saccos have independently parked their vehicles. Kenyans must support them with TOTAL SHUTDOWN, Ruto thought it best that buying out several "leaders" of the industry will stop the strike.
