No matter how many times I try, I cannot eat at G-PA’s speed. Man's finished his plate, wiped his mouth, and is halfway into dessert before I even get my first real bite. Then he just sits there looking at me like I'm on a snack break 🍔😆

Back when I was pushing that wobbly K-Mart tray, I wasn't just grabbing a mystery meat sandwich-I had choices-sloppy joes, hot dogs, fries, and a fountain Coke. Grandma had exact change, of course. No phones, no rush-just us, a blue light special, and memories. 💙😃

Sliding into summer like my kind of day-behind the wheel of a '69 Olds 442 Convertible, top down and worries left in the dust… Back when life was simple, and every mile meant something. Some memories don't fade... they ride with you. 🔥 G-MA liked this one the best, I think I’ve convinced her 😂

Once upon a time, school picture day was a big deal! And yes, our moms did this to us! The hair!😆 Did you or any of your siblings get one of those school photos that you never wanted to let anyone see?

Many people forget that this incredible cutie was a child star before her adult acting career brought her much attention and notoriety! Her famous husband, she actually married twice! Do you know this actress?

🇺🇸⭐️🇺🇸⭐️🇺🇸 Medal of Honor June 6, 1944. I've read about that day more times than I can count. Young Americans stepping off those boats into the unknown at Omaha Beach—most of them just kids, seeing war for the first time. But one story always sticks with me. Walter Ehlers wasn't walking into something unfamiliar. Born out in Kansas in 1921, he already had a sense of what was coming. Before he ever shipped out, he went to his parents and asked for permission to serve. His dad didn't think twice. His mom... she needed something first. She told him she'd sign, but only if he gave her his word—that no matter where he went or what he faced, he'd carry himself as a Christian. That part gets me. Because years later, Ehlers admitted that promise never left him. And I can only imagine what that must've felt like-trying to hold onto faith and decency while standing in the middle of something as brutal as war. He didn't see himself as a man fueled by hate. In his mind, he was there to stand against something evil—to protect freedom from forces that threatened to take it away. Then came D-Day. And like so many others, he stepped into chaos. Gunfire, confusion, fear—no time to think, just act. But even in all of that, he kept choosing others over himself. Going back into danger. Helping the wounded. Leading when it would've been easier to stay down and survive. That kind of courage earned him the Medal of Honor. But honestly, what stays with me isn't just what he did. It's who he was trying to be while doing it. A young man carrying a promise from his mother... doing everything he could to hold onto it in a place that tested every part of it. And as a dad, a granddad... I think about that. About what we pass down. About the kind of men we hope our kids become when the world gets hard. That's the part of the story that lingers. 🇺🇸⭐️🇺🇸⭐️🇺🇸 Photo courtesy of army.mil

If you ever get the chance to go to Normandy, take it. Don't just visit it-take your time and let it sink in, because it is one of the most humbling experiences I've ever had. Standing there, looking out across those beaches, you can almost feel the weight of what happened there. It's hard to fully understand what those soldiers went through until you're standing in that place, realizing the courage it took just to run toward that shore. The beauty of Normandy is quiet and powerful, but so is the sacrifice it represents. The rows of white crosses, the history in the ground, the silence in the air-it all reminds you that freedom came at a tremendous cost. It's the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. It makes you grateful, reflective, and a little more aware of how much was given for the life we live today. Normandy is more than a battlefield. It is a lesson in sacrifice, bravery, and remembrance. 🙏🇺🇸🙏
