As a National Day of Mourning to Honor 39th President Jimmy Carter all US Forest Service Offices will be closed Thursday January 9th on the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Jimmy Carter played an important part in the days following the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980.

Christmas tree permits are now available ether in-person at the Mt. Adams, Mount St. Helens, and Cowlitz Valley Ranger District offices and at local vendors. You can also purchase your Christmas tree permit online at rec.gov.

Science and Learning Center at Coldwater winter hours ❄
The Center will be transitioning to its winter hours on November 3rd and will be open Friday-Sunday. Hours remain 10am-4pm. The site may close due to inclement weather or unsafe road conditions.
