Today Year 1 had a visit from @LeicsFireRescue and learnt all about the dangers of fire and how to stay safe. The children also learnt how to 'stop, drop and roll' and practiced this in the hall. Thank you very much, Maurita! @GPSMissPullen @GreystokePS

Last Saturday saw the 2nd Prestwold Hall Cross Country Event. It was very muddy, rainy and wet but the children and I LOVED it! Here are some photos...we even managed a medal! Well done to all those who took part and we hope to see you at the next one. @GreystokePS @gpsmissbutton

This afternoon, Year 1 have been exploring our local area of Narborough. We have walked round and discussed the physical and human features we could see. The children (and adults!) had a lovely time and luckily the weather was glorious! @GPSMissPullen @GreystokePS

We have had lots of fun in Maths so far this week! We have been sorting, counting and representing numbers to 10 in different ways. The children have loved exploring this practically. @GreystokePS @GPSMissPullen

This week we have been learning lots of new vocabulary in History. Words like 'past' and 'a long time ago'. Today, we had a go at sorting some objects into the past and some into present - we loved the rich discussions the children were having when reasoning their answers.

What a year! A crazy but wonderful year! I am so proud of 3/4EW for showing kindness, thoughtfulness and willingness right until the end. I have loved being your teacher and will be keeping an eye on you next year as you continue your journey. Remember, my door is always open!

I have had the best day with the whole school at Sports Day! The Sporting Ambassadors and House Captains were AMAZING assistants and I am so proud of them. Roll on the next one...

We have been researching Gambia as it is where our new text is set. Earlier, we had storytelling outside where we imagined sitting along the Gambian coast with the warm breeze of the Atlantic ocean, and listened to some traditional west African drumming with a real djembe drum!
