🌚 This week we are focusing on day & night. This tuff tray set up will not only promote the topic we are learning, but it will also enhance fine motor skills, creativity, shape recognition, language of size… the list goes on! @GreystokePS

A day late posting, but we celebrated St Patrick’s Day yesterday in our class. We made some gorgeous Shamrocks, read a story about St Patrick, but we had the most fun having a go at Irish dancing. ☘️ 💚 @GreystokePS

Wow, look at our children’s dough spiders 🕷. We provided a variety of tools & items for the children to use but gave them very little direction. It’s so interesting to see what they made and how individual they look! Amazing! @GreystokePS

This week we are focusing on Life Cycles. In our sensory tray the children have the opportunity to explore (pretend) frog spawn as they learn about the different stages of this particular life cycle. 🐸 @GreystokePS

This week we have made some shape monsters! We have been learning about the different aspects of the shapes, such as how many sides they have & how many corners. Today we will be feeding the monsters with the corresponding shapes! 🟥🔺🔴 @GreystokePS

Our Dino Explorers area is a great place to learn all about dinosaurs!🦕 🦖The children can hunt for the various dinos & tick them off their list, match the name & picture cards, look at dino books & even design their own Dino pants! Endless learning opportunities @GreystokePS

Couldn’t end the week without showing the children’s amazing fortune cookies🥠 every child told us their wish for the year, we wrote it down, they folded it & made the dough themselves, keeping their wish inside the cookie. They were SO excited to take these home! @GreystokePS

We’ve introduced a new fine motor activity this week…Bead Beats. The children are given a selection of beads to thread as we listen to music. So simple, but so effective. I was blown away by the concentration from every child & the amazing fine motors skills I saw .@GreystokePS

Last week we explored sizes, thinking about our story focus, Goldilocks. We thought about big, medium and small and did some great shape printing which shows our understanding. Fab work! @GreystokePS

It is vital that mark making is fun and inviting. One way we do this is by ensuring there are writing opportunities right across the provision. Today when tidying, I came across this great example of a child’s independent work…forming symbols in our message centre. @GreystokePS
