This workshop is part of the science outreach initiatives developed by researchers Natalia Calvo and Gema Serrano of the SALBIS group and was made possible thanks to Nutrisapientia, with whom it is always a pleasure to work.

The activity was very well received, with dozens of students enjoying a fun, responsible, and age-appropriate learning experience.

Exploring the World of Food Additives The SALBIS research group participated in Expociencia with the activity “Journey into the Secret World of Food Additives,” aimed at students from various schools in the municipality.

Guided by our dedicated team, the workshop highlighted the importance of nursing in monitoring and caring for life at every moment. An engaging, educational, and inspiring experience… because understanding life starts with knowing its signs!

Participants had the opportunity to explore key health indicators such as heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and body temperature, discovering how these simple measurements provide essential information about our health and well-being.

Nursing brings “The Science of Being Alive” to Expociencia! Our Nursing team took part in Expociencia with the workshop “The Science of Being Alive”, an interactive experience focused on the measurement and interpretation of vital signs.

Led by Nerea Sánchez, together with students from the Podiatry Degree, we showcased how science and healthcare come together to improve quality of life—starting from the ground up! An enriching and inspiring experience… Always putting our best foot forward!

SALBIS steps forward at Expociencia! We took part in the event with a dynamic, hands-on workshop focused on the assessment of plantar pressure and gait analysis, bringing podiatry closer to everyone in an engaging and practical way.

A morning full of learning, curiosity, and applied science. Thank you to all the schools and participants who made it possible!

The workshop consisted of challenges and games designed to explore the science behind physiotherapy and its different fields of practice: respiratory, urogynaecological, orofacial, and musculoskeletal physiotherapy.

During today’s event, several workshops were held by the SALBIS group as part of Expociencia. In this first news piece, we present the workshop led by our physiotherapy colleagues entitled “Did You Know…? The Science Behind Movement.”

From SALBIS, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the VR Health group for their warm welcome and the shared work. It has been a pleasure to collaborate in such an enriching environment, and we look forward to continuing to build joint projects for many years to come.

- Vitamin C and antioxidant capacity experimental workshop: participants tested firsthand which source provided the highest vitamin C content and how it relates to antioxidant capacity.
