Turns out, plastic can be really fantastic. This piece, by @adrianamoram explores how light interacts with plastic...the way it passes through, catches edges, and reflects just enough to bring ordinary objects to life. 💡 Tip: When working with plastic materials, pay attention to how light travels through the object, not just across the surface. A little transparency and strong edge lighting can make simple shapes feel instantly more dimensional.

You can almost feel the condensation 💧 @nickel_3d built this hero shot for BERO with a focus on subtle realism: nano-texture shaders, condensation maps, and scattered water droplets to sell that cold, straight-from-the-fridge feel. Add one strong HDRI light and careful compositing, and suddenly a simple scene starts to feel refreshingly real.

🧵 No loose threads. This animation uses our Patterned Canvas materials, plus some clever tricks with volumes, cloth simulation, and stitched UVs to bring everything together. Want to create this seamless animation yourself? 👉 ow.ly/j4vG50YpJfn

🦉 Who knew felt could look this good? Felt Materials are great when you want color without harsh reflections. They absorb light in a really forgiving way, which makes lighting easier and more natural.

Type doesn't have to be static. @2d_pete proves that with "Always Almost There," a piece created using Cinema 4D, Redshift, and Signal. But how exactly does he get that fluid, precise motion? The secret is stepping away from traditional keyframing and offsetting individual Signal tags instead. If you want this look, try dragging your font parameters into a Signal tag and playing with the time offset.

Some scenes just need to feel handmade 🐸 Clay Doh materials instantly add warmth, softness, and a bit of nostalgia to your renders. Lower the spec, soften your edges, and let the imperfections do the storytelling. Thanks to @eyedesyn for bringing this little fisherman to life.

There’s a big difference between “fix it in post” and building it right from the start. We sat down with Mario Baluci, co-founder of Kosmos, to talk realism-first VFX, avoiding green screens, and keeping the human touch in a technical industry. If you care about craft, this one’s worth your time. Read the full interview with @Baloooci: ow.ly/bvqH50YhSim

@GSG3D I recognise that claw! Have just used it in a client project…. Not entirely unlike this one. Used a GSG paracord texture on the cable, obvs

Is your lighting starting to feel repetitive? Gobos are a good way to mix things up without rebuilding the setup.

Empty glasses. Full viewport. Our glass models and materials make dry January look good. 💡 Tip: Reflections sell the shape. Try a soft HDRI with some contrast to catch those curves.

You might want to sit down for this one 🪑 Every Plywood material comes with a matching end grain. So when you bevel, boolean, or cut into your model, the edges still look clean and real. No texture hacks. No weird seams. Just photoreal wood from every angle. Now in Plus 👉 ow.ly/fL9t50XUepL

They’re called Simple Textiles, but simple doesn’t mean basic. These materials were designed to flex, working across soft seating, walls, partitions, panels, and more. Natural tones, balanced roughness, and enough weave variation to keep things feeling real, not repetitive. A small collection that covers a lot of ground. Available now in Plus.
