In week 2, the Panthers face a much easier opponent in FCS Southeast.

King prefers a 3-3-5 defense, but often adapts to his personnel. Currently the Panthers are running a 3-4 defense.

Meet the coach: Georgia State has hired J’mir King as their first FBS head coach. King was formerly a wide receivers coach for the Atlanta Falcons and co-offensive coordinator at Georgia Tech. King runs an air raid/ spread option hybrid offense.

Alabama RB T.J. Yeldon completed a phenomenal performance with 17 carries for 226 Yds. and 6 TDs. RB Kenyan Drake amassed 84 yards on 16 carries. Alabama had 499 yards of total offense compared to GSU’s 262.

DT Terrance Woodard had 4 tackles and a sack.

GSU loses in a crushing defeat to the crimson tide by a score of 59-21. Quarterback Nick Arbuckle was 8-24 for 192 yards, 2 tds and 2 ints, and Ronnie Bell was 5-7 for 53 yards. Travis Evans led the rushing attack with 20 yards on 5 carries.

The Panthers will begin the season against the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide !
