@connorfranta Yes, impressive and yes, hard. But it's achievable with effort and focus. After all, he is (only) 31. I did 2:58 at the age of 50 - and I'm not exceptionally good.

@ClutchPoints @netflix All good, appropriate names. We will always dispute the order. And wonder about the absence of Robertson, West and the much unappreciated Havlicek.

@dmwkdndgzf @OnlyInBOS I see more often lately people driving with no headlights on at night. Since dashboard lights are always on and day time running light give a little light they get confused. Meanwhile no taillights. And dude, there are lots of cars that don’t have auto wipers or auto lights.

@OnlyInBOS Another example of political stupidity with rain sensing wipers and automatic lights.

The Massachusetts Light Law went into effect 10 years ago today. If your wipers are on, you must turn your headlights and taillights on. The law states that lights should be turned on a half-hour after sunset and half-hour before sunrise or when visibility is under 500 feet.

The long run obsession is ruining runners. But let me break it to you Your weekly volume matters more than your Sunday death march.

my all time favorite distance for a run: 7 miles. ooooh man. so good. a comfy 8:30ish pace will give you an hour of work. it’s long enough to get in a flow…not so long you think “I want this to be over” never need fuel or water. I love it. What’s your magic distance?

What’s the 2nd biggest hill on The Course? Mile 16, Grossman’s Hill. A huge plunge down from Wellesley Hills to the Charles River. After you cross the Charles the first of the 4 Newton Hills, Hospital Hill.
Boston Marathon@bostonmarathon

Running through Hopkinton, Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, and Brookline you’ll hear cheers from thousands of spectators... ride that energy all the way to the FINISH in Boston!🏁 #Boston129 #BostonMarathon #MeetTheMoment (2/2)

@hansonsrun And a plan to run the race based on the course. Early big downhills followed by 10 miles of basically flat, then 5 miles of hills, before a 5 miles mainly down hill finish requires a specific strategy.

Most marathons require training for the distance. The Boston marathon requires training for the course.

Honestly I’m a bit tired of seeing endurance training glamourised so much on insta etc. Folks dancing in their homes before a run, filming every Km and finishing with brunch. Proper training can be so hard, lonely and tough. That’s what makes the reward so much sweeter.
Andrew Woodroffe@andrewwoodroffe

Well marathon training sure can be hard! Insane rain and wind today in Girona but I just wanted to get my session done. Walked into the gym to treadmill and walked straight back out. Figured it can be shit on race day. 4x5kms averaging 3:30 pace. Not the best not the worst
