This incredible study looked at emergency department visits in children for suicidality (attempts & ideation) before & during the pandemic and found, unsurprisingly: a) kids more likely suicidal during school months b) school closures associated with DECREASED ER visits /1

MH service users avg 9 years younger when admitted, largest increases (4-6x) in 35-65 year olds. Increases for all conditions including hepatitis B, pneumonias and herpes zoster

Pediatric Suicidology =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Will be diving in deeper later, but numbers for July 2022 are out. July, generally in the US **not confounded** by school (most school is out in July in the US) did not show any pandemic changes from baseline, and a drop in 2022.
