During the 2025 GUBA Awards, the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was introduced with great honor, his name proclaimed alongside high titles that reflected his esteemed leadership and revered position within the Ashanti Kingdom.

@GUBAAwards 2025 brought together global leaders, changemakers, and cultural icons at the Wyndham Grand Barbados for an unforgettable celebration. From stunning kente and Afro-Caribbean designs to powerful recognition of excellence across business, entertainment, and public service this was more than an awards ceremony. It was a testament to the strength of the African diaspora. Highlights included Her Excellency President Sandra Mason presenting the Black Star Lifetime Impact Award to civil rights activist Dr. Amos Brown, while Dr. Velma Scantleburythe first Black female transplant surgeon in the US and Dr. Kevin Greenidge, Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, were honored for their groundbreaking contributions. Ghanaian designer Grace Yeboah Ofori of closed the evening with a breathtaking fashion showcase that left us speechless. 🤍
