National Medal of Honor Day is dedicated to honoring the recipients of the Medal of Honor, our Nation's highest recognition for valor in combat. Awarded to those who have displayed extraordinary courage, 29 service members have received the prestigious honor in the GWOT.

Join us in celebrating the @AmericanLegion’s 107th birthday. The Legion traces its roots to March 15–17, 1919, when members of the American Expeditionary Forces gathered in Paris for what became known as the Paris Caucus. That meeting led to the creation of the organization.

We mourn U.S. Army Sergeant Benjamin N. Pennington, who passed away from injuries received during the Iranian regime’s initial attacks. Pennington was a member of the 1st Space Battalion, 1st Space Brigade, a unit within the Army Space and Missile Defense Command.

Women have been indispensable to the Global War on Terrorism, answering the call with courage, skill, & unwavering determination. Since 9/11, more than 300,000 women have served in this multigenerational conflict. Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we honor their lasting impact.
