🌍 A Glimpse into History 🕌 In early 1920, announcements were made to collect funds for a mosque in London. Despite their limited means, the Ahmadi Muslim community in Qadian raised 12,000 rupees. Unlike others, we didn’t plead with the government for funds but came together ourselves. By August 1920, a piece of land and a building were bought for £2,223 (30,000 rupees) in Southfields, London. Today, we’re sharing a rare image of 63 Melrose Road, the mission house before and during the early years of the Fazl Mosque. 📢 Latest: 100 Years of Fazl Mosque - 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘀 𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗦𝗧 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲 During the historic milestone of the 100-year anniversary of the Fazl Mosque in London, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V (aa), in his Friday Sermon delivered on 18 October 2024, reflected on the significance of this occasion. After briefly recounting the mosque’s history and significance, he stated: “As I mentioned earlier, we are holding a ceremony marking the completion of 100 years [since the construction of the Fazl Mosque in London]. This ceremony is not for any worldly purpose. As I have explained through the directives and sayings of Hazrat Musleh-e-Maud (ra) and the words and teachings of the Promised Messiah (as), this mosque is a place where people are to gather to worship Allah the Almighty, worship the One God, fulfil the rights owed to one another, work towards their spiritual reformation, and elevate their moral standards. “In this era, when people are forgetting God, the importance of the mosque has greatly increased. According to the teachings of Allah the Exalted, the purpose of human creation is worship, and we are moving away from this. Therefore, today we must strive to fulfil the due rights of worship. In our environment, among the people around us, and for our future generations, we must draw attention to the fact that true life and our survival lie in worshipping Allah the Exalted, fulfilling His due rights, fulfilling the rights of His creation, and following His commandments. Only then can we successfully run the world with peace and harmony and live in it. Otherwise, there is nothing but disorder and conflicts, as we are witnessing these days. Therefore, every Ahmadi should remember this purpose. “The Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) said, ‘Love for others what you love for yourself.’ In light of this teaching, it is the duty of every Ahmadi to convey and spread this preaching, this message of Islam—which is a message of love, affection, living in peace, reconciliation, and harmony—to the world, so that people become acquainted with it. This is the guarantor of human survival; there is nothing else besides this. Otherwise, future generations will continue to fall into the pit of destruction and ruin, and due to these wars, it is not far-fetched that future generations may be born disabled and crippled. Therefore, it is necessary to make people aware in this regard as well. “May Allah the Almighty grant us all the ability to fulfil the rights of this mosque and fulfil the rights of every mosque—not just this mosque. Every Ahmadi, wherever they are, should strive to populate every mosque and endeavour to fulfil its rights, to fulfil the rights of worship, to fulfil the right of conveying the message of Allah the Exalted, to fulfil the right of preaching Islam, and to truly become those Muslims for whom Allah the Exalted sent the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa), and in this age sent his true and most ardent devotee , peace be on him, so that the era of the renaissance of Islam may begin anew, and the rule of Islam and the One God may be established in the world, and the flag of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (sa) may fly high in the world.
