I think some people have this weird, parasocial need to defend Scott from any and all criticism or insults even if they're entirely lighthearted especially since he's friends with a lot of questionable people. He's a 47 year old man you don't need to fight his battles for him.

@GoodNightDrew Not every movie has to have a good story, mario doesn't have a lot of good stories, only basic topics to justify the Gameplay (thats what makes Mario "Mario") is the story the only thing that matters in the cinema recently? I think thats dumb.

I’m starting to notice a pattern with some video game movies:
Okay first movie that blends Easter eggs and fan service well with somewhat decent character development
Followed up with a sequel that prioritizes fan service and references over an actual “compelling” story
