@CillianKilkee That's great, Cillian. That seems to be close to the average bill if it's highly efficient and everything's working correctly -- the property is well insulated, airtight, you're on the correct tariff etc. But for some people, the switchover is a steep learning curve.

@GabbyMonaghan Our total energy bill (100% electric for all cooking, lighting and heating with heat pump) for the year, including solar used and sold to grid, will be approximately €500.

Actually, even if an older Home has been retrofitted, it's doubtful IMHO a heat pump will actually work efficiently. A glaring omission from this Article is the actual cost of Electricity in Ireland, the Highest in Europe, possibly the world.

@darrenmcentee Hi Darren. It only applies from April. If you'll be continuing to buy back years, you'll be paying the class 3 rate for each of the UK tax years from April 2025-26 onwards. If you've finished buying contributions, it wouldn't affect you.

@GabbyMonaghan Hi Gabby, do you know for people who are already on Class 2, will they be locked in at that Class 2 rate, or will the new changes be broadly applied to everyone from 2026? Thanks
