The Roman Empire didn't fall because of one invasion. It fell because the currency was debased until soldiers refused to fight for it. The Spanish Empire didn't collapse because it lost a war. It collapsed because it spent its wealth conquering instead of building. The British Empire didn't end because the colonies suddenly got stronger. It ended because maintaining global control became more expensive than the empire was worth. Every empire in history has ended the same way: military overextension drains the treasury, the currency gets debased to cover the shortfall, domestic infrastructure crumbles while resources flow to the periphery, and eventually the center can't hold. The pattern is 100% consistent across 3,000 years of recorded history.

@bneeditor Thanks but no thanks. Romania for example faced many conditions to enter EU: equal treatment of minorities, functioning market economy, fight against corruption. Ukraine is far from passing the bar on any of these issues.

I’m 100% behind this idea of letting in Ukraine to the EU as fast as possible – by 2027 For the citizens of the EU, not the member of states, it comes with all sorts of benefits. First article 42/7 is the EU article 5 like collective security guarantee that Ukraine desperately needs to prevent a second Russian attack Ukraine is massive agricultural sector will end the cost of living crisis by pulling the cost of food down dramatically. Europe is suffering from a horrific demographic crisis. Nowhere in the EU has 2.1 replacement rate and Ukrainians represent a massive pool of cheap and highly skilled labour that so many countries need Of course for Ukraine itself the Exodus of the workforce is a huge problem which the government needs to address somehow – they’re talking about Indian immigrants but any solution along those lines is not going to be pretty still for the rest of the EU it’s a huge bonus As far as defence is concerned, we live in a new world now and drones is everything. No one in the EU is producing drones and you need to make millions of them a year now. Europe’s eastern flank is wide open to a Russian attack based forms of drones and there is nothing they can do about it and there is nothing they will be able to do about it for years to come. Bringing Ukraine and solve that problem overnight. It makes sense it’s so many levels but because central Europe countries like Poland and Hungary will go from net beneficiaries of the EU budget to net contributors to the EU budget they will block it. The new government of PeterMagyar who was supposed to bring hungry back into the EU fault has just banded the import of Ukrainian agricultural goods. German ChancellorMerz has also offered Ukraine a “partial” membership which is to say it’s no membership at all. It’s more empty rhetoric to show that we stand with Ukraine without actually standing with Ukraine and doing nothing material to make a difference. The hypocrisy of the EU stance towards actual concrete actions to better Ukraine situation is despicable. All it does is highlight the trope that we want Ukraine to fight Russia on our behalf, to do the dying on our behalf, but not actually commit anything from the European Arsenal that would make any difference – specifically men and missiles this formula is guaranteed to maximise the deaths of Ukrainian citizens that they already can’t afford. The Iraq and Afghan war collectively cross the allies wars about 10,000 dead. Estimates of Ukrainian deaths vary there is somewhere around 200,000 men – an entire generation Either we stand up and do the right thing and let Ukraine into the EU or we stop it now as continuing is pointless under the current parameters

I still think that if USA gave to Ukraine ATACMS, Tomahawks and others, Russia would never attacked Kyiv such blatantly and arrogantly. Parity would force Moscow to behave more kindly. But trump wants Ukraine lose and russia to be rewarded for war crimes

The largest aerial attack of the entire conflict on Kiev, meant to supposedly kill as many civilians as possible, produced two reported deaths. However unfortunate that might be, it points to the fact that Russia does NOT in fact deliberately target civilians.

@GabeZZOZZ My best guess is that the leadership of Russia thinks Zelensky is doing a good job ruining Ukraine and dragging Europe down with it and that they keep him alive and let him continue the war.

According to Ukrainian reports, Russia launched a Zircon hypersonic missile from a ground-based launcher north of Kiev last night, and it reached its target in seconds. Russia could strike Ukraine’s government buildings while officials are in session, and Ukraine wouldn’t even be able to detect the attack in time to evacuate. I don’t know what Putin is waiting for.

When testosterone is administered to women, their behavior becomes fairer, and the tendency to become confrontational weakens. However, women who believe they have been given testosterone but have actually received a placebo become more aggressive and their behavior also becomes more unfair.

@vick55top But it feels like Russia is in complete control and it could end the war in minutes or days, not by using nukes but by terminating a few people in the leadership of Ukraine. 2/2

Victor vicktop55 commentary
NASA Firms data shows massive fires in Kiev at the Artem military-industrial plant and in the Darnytskyi district industrial zone. Four hypersonic Zircon missiles are believed to have struck the industrial zone. Russia has struck industrial plants, supermarkets, and bazaars in Kiev. However, there is still no talk of any strikes on decision-making centers. Why is Russia so protective of the Nazi-dominated Ukrainian government? Only a couple of possible answers are possible. Either the Russian leadership fears attacks on itself, or it intends to reach an agreement with the Ukrainian Nazis.

@grendel028 @MyLordBebo Hypersonic missiles, Oreshnik (possibly without explosives , the damage caused by the speed of the missiles is big enough even without them carrying explosives).

🇷🇺🇺🇦 Russia struck Kiev with the Hazelnut IRBM (Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile). -> Looks like Oreshnik hit the SBU special services of Ukraine. That would be insane. This seems to be a big escalation! The Russian army has carried out a massive strike across Ukrainian territory, with Kyiv as the primary target. 1/ 🧵 On the combined missile attack on Kiev

@FranciscoG84692 @MyLordBebo Most ukraineans don't want a war with Russia and also many of them are Russians, why kill millions of innocent people when you can just take out Zelensky and his gang - after that the war will probably be over, problem solved.

@LeadenStorm @Panchenko_X Also most of the ordinary people in Ukraine don't want to fight this war either so it will be over. I guess overall Russia gains more by keeping Zelensky alive and continuing the war (they eliminate racists, destroy ukrainean army, give Europe more time to destroy itself). 2/2

@LeadenStorm @Panchenko_X I think if Russia terminates a few people in the leadership of Ukraine their appetite for war will disappear-because Ukraine's leadership is not ready to die, they just want to steal money and live a good life in US or Western Europe. 1/2

Absolutely incredible: Over the last 6 years, the S&P 500 has risen +130% while US Consumer Sentiment has collapsed by -55%, to its lowest since data began in 1952. We are witnessing the formation of the biggest wealth divide in modern history.
The Kobeissi Letter@KobeissiLetter

BREAKING: US Consumer Sentiment officially falls to its lowest level on record in data going back to 1952, down another -10% last month. Consumers now see inflation rising to 4.8% over the next 12 months. This puts the Consumer Sentiment index down -21% since February 2026, before the Iran War. Not even the 1980s saw Consumer Sentiment this low.

@Zlatti_71 Because Ukraine's leadership is not ready to sacrifice themselves. Of course the attrition war has its advantages and Russia might have its reasons not to kill Zelensky but his/his gang's death could end the war or at least accelerate the collapse of Ukraine. 2/2

@Zlatti_71 Iran's leaders are ready to die for their country. Ukraine's politicians are grifters who want to accumulate wealth and live a good life in US or Europe. If Russia would kill Zelensky and his gang, unlike Iran, Ukraine would collapse like a house of cards. 1/2

“Russia should just kill Zelensky.” The US tried that logic on Iran’s supreme leadership. Ten weeks later the war is still on, Hormuz is still shut, and Tehran is still saying “we will never bow.” Wars don’t end because one man dies. They end when the structures funding, arming and politically sustaining them decide to stop. Zelensky is a pawn. The board is in Washington, Brussels, London. Remove the pawn, the game continues. Remove the players, the game ends.
