I very slightly improved the architecture here: just a slight strengthening of the piers, put simple deco detailing on the spandrels (and recessed them a tad) and added a basic cornice. And I made it today’s weather.
(I actually think these are OK as it is and better than 60% of what gets built, and we need the homes, but it’s fun to see how easy it is to improve these things.)

I often think "what if" the Victorian's designed these 5G Masts you see going up everywhere.
They cared about their streetscapes - going as far as to design ornate "stink pipes" for venting sewers (a number of which are now listed!)
I can't see any of our 5G towers being listed.

Why are investment bankers living in two up two downs in South London that were built for manual labourers?
Because we haven’t built enough luxury housing.
When we don’t build luxury homes, the houses that used to be for the everyman become the preserve of the elite.
And everyone else moves *down* the chain. By building luxury homes we can move everyone *up* that chain.

Building "luxury flats" actually makes housing more affordable for everyone. It's an effect shown in studies around the world. The chains created by people moving into high end properties free up homes all the way down the ladder.

I have just watched @KemiBadenoch's remarks in response to the King's Speech in full - and I am enormously impressed.
Her confidence, command, humour, wit, seriousness, focus, and leadership is inspirational. Generous spirited where appropriate, critical where justified, constructive where needed, and bubbling with ideas and vision.
I had previously only seen extracts - now I've seen the full speech.
I already supported her. Now I have no doubt.
She is what Britain needs.
