@AdrianoAguzzi Not to mention that some colors aren't suitable for proper visualization, like when pairing red and green. It makes describing colors even more useless.

@devivo_marco As proposal evaluator for top-tier funding schemes, I read the papers w/o even checking where they are published. Top-tier journals/stellar IF are no quality guarantee. Such journals may accept sloppy studies if they can make that media hype. Preprints avoid evaluation bias. MTC

Going through proposals, I noticed that several PIs publish in MDPI journals, as some offer a (somehow…) decent IF. Just please go to more serious and respected journals; MDPI won’t do any good to your reputation, nor to your CV. My two cents …

@PietroPichierri @OdedRechavi Mortified to read this. And we are in a country that brags about attracting and retaining talent. It was so disrespectful. Time and energy tossed as if it were worthless garbage. I bet some consoled applicants by saying "you can still readapt your grant for another call" 🤬

@OdedRechavi I did it three times…in one of these the funding agency, an Italian government one, suddenly decided to cancel the call in the middle of the revisione stage…I think most PIs of my age remember this
