IS HSR ANNIVERSARY A FLOP? 🤔 - An analysis- Kinda clickbait title but this is an interesting analysis of HSR main pushes revenue over time. In this post I will show you why I think HSR 3rd anniversary (for now) has been the worst main push in HSR history, revenue wise ofc. What I consider main push is a unit that is meant to be sold, and where HSR expects you to spend your pulls. I will exclude the launch period from this analysis since launch numbers are often inflated. The characters and patch I will use for this comparison are: 1) Acheron (1st anni) 2) Firefly (main push of 2.x) 3) Castorice (2nd anni) 4) Phainon (1st main push of 3.x) 5) Cyrene (2nd main push of 3.x) 6) Silverwolf lvl 999 (3rd anni) To make it a bit easier I will only consider JP and CN overall rankings since other countries are much harder to track, I will also try to keep track of the US ranking. The data for jp can be obtained here: game-i.daa.jp/?APP/159971915… The data from CN can be obtained by either QIMAI or old videos. I used a combination of both. Let's begin:

SILVERWOLF LVL 999 - HSR 3RD ANNIVERSARY Silverwolf lvl 999, released a bit more than a week ago and the first SPs to be a main push in HSR, but how did she perform? Is she a flop or did she manage to compete with those that came before her? HSR managed to rank top 1 in China even this time but this time managed to maintain top 1 for only 1 day, getting surpassed by Honor of Kings the day after the anniversary patch dropped. In japan Silverwolf ranked 1st for 3 days this time and it took 6 days for it to fall out of the top 10. In the US HSR ranked top 3 in the games category this time. RECAP: CN: 1 day top 1, Cloud version top 7 JP: 2 days top 1, 4 days to get out of the top 10 US: Top 7 in games ranking day 1 I think we can clearly see a reduction in interest in both JP and the US, although in the US it seems like HSR started to fall after Castorice, likely bc of the global passive fiasco. I don't think Silverwolf performed badly but I think she is the weakest main push HSR has ever released as far as revenue goes. She has also pretty horrible legs in japan where she fell out of the top 20 in just 6 days when for the other units it took weeks for it to happen. She is also falling kinda fast in China, maybe the initial push was similar to old units but the hype and interest started to fall faster than usual? Overall not a disaster ofc, but maybe SPs don't have as much hype as new characters? Or maybe Evanescia is the one everyone is waiting for, who knows? We can also notice that the legs got worse as time goes on while the day 1 revenue kinda remained the same, could this be a hint of HSR losing casual players while the big spenders are still there, ready to top up day 1? #Silverwolf

4) PHAINON - THE 1st MALE MAIN PUSH Phainon, "protagonist" of the 3.x storyline and 1st main push in HSR history, let's see how he performed compared to his peers. HSR managed to rank top 1 in China even this time and it managed to remain 1st for 2 days after his release. We also introduce a new thing: the HSR cloud app HSR cloud has different rankings compared to normal HSR so I will start putting them as well from now on. In japan Phainon ranked 1st for 3 days this time and it took 5 days for it to fall out of the top 10. In the US HSR ranked top 6 in the games category this time. RECAP: CN: 2 days top 1, Cloud version top 22 JP: 3 days top 1, 5 days to get out of the top 10 US: Top 6 in games ranking day 1 Overall a similar performance day 1 compared to past pushes but pretty bad legs. #Phainon

3) CASTORICE - HSR 2nd ANNIVERSARY We now eneter 3.x, a period full of controversies and that some consider the begin of HSR fall from the popularity it had in 2.x. Let's see if the first global passive and her dragon performed. HSR managed to rank top 1 in China even this time but here it managed to remain 1st for only 1 day after her release. Losing her spot to Honor of Kings on the 2nd day of her banner. In japan Castorice ranked 1st for 4 days this time and it took 8 days for it to fall out of the top 10. In the US HSR ranked top 3 in the games category this time. RECAP: CN: 1 day top 1 JP: 4 days top 1, 8 days to get out of the top 10 US: Top 3 in games ranking day 1 Even here similar performance to the past units with a slightly better performance in Japan but worse in CN compared to the past. #Castorice

2) FIREFLY - HSR 2.X MAIN PUSH Firefly as we all know had a bit of controversy on her release but no one can deny that her release was one of the major moments in HSR 2.x history. But how did she perform at the time? HSR managed to rank top 1 in China even this time and even here it managed to remain 1st for 2 days after her release. Although she lost her spot for a new game and not other games like Honor of Kings so maybe, if that game didn't release at the time, she could have remained top 1 for 3 days. In japan FF ranked 1st for 3 days even this time but it took 9 days for it to fall out of the top 10. In the US HSR ranked top 2 in the games category even this time. 1) ACHERON - HSR 1ST ANNIVERSARY Acheron is by far the most known unit in modern hsr and her release was a true event for the hsr community. Lets take a look at her rankings at the time: HSR managed to rank 1st in all the asian countries and especially China where she remained 1st place for 2 days. In Japan she managed to keep the number 1 spot in the store for 3 days and it took her 8 days to go out of the top 10. In the US HSR ranked 2nd in the game category, only behind Monopoly Go. Top 20 gacha games revenue - April 2026 (data: Sensor tower) Site: revenue.ennead.cc/revenue As always remember that this site uses a 1.75x multipier for chinese Android revenue, if you want raw numbers you can remove the CN android part. I suggest to not use the raw numbers (since noone actually knows how much these gacha earn) and use it more as a standard candle to see the revenue trends of each app.

Hiyuki - Wuthering Waves day 1 revenue performance! It's ANNIVERSARY TIME!!!!🥳 So, how did Hiyuki perform? Did she beat last year's anniversary? Did she manage to perform like the two Sentinels, Cartethyia and Aemeath? Overall, Hiyuki's performance is kind of a mixed bag. Very good in China, with 9th place on main and 19th place on cloud (compared to Zani's 8th place on main and 54th place on cloud), which implies a better performance for Hiyuki compared to Zani. But at the same time, her performance in Japan was kinda bad, with a rather mid 10th place, while Zani managed to reach 4th place last year. Still good compared to other units but this is the anniversary unit and also a japanese inspired one so I expected much more. In the other Asian countries, she is doing more or less the same as Zani, maybe a bit worse, but we are talking about differences of around 1 rank, so nothing notable. Overall, I would say it's still a good performance, especially in China, but I kind of expected more. I would say she is performing more or less at the same level as Zani, which is good enough, I guess. TOP 5 RANKINGS: 1) South Korea: 5th 2) Taiwan: 5th 3) Hong Kong: 8th 4) China: 9th 5) Japan: 10th I want to remind everyone that this doesn't mean Hiyuki sold badly. She still sold very well. She just didn't improve on last year's anniversary performance.🫤 Unrelated: I'll soon post a review of the HSR anniversary, which is, in my opinion, kind of a flop compared to past anniversaries and main pushes (of course, revenue-wise). It should be ready tomorrow because I want to be sure and check the past rankings for all the main HSR patches. #WuWaAnniversary
