@ooooonnnnnchan Good morning from Florida! Awesome Camaro! Here's my Atlas on the Tail of the Dragon.

English

Exactly! Gotta stock up ammo and coordinate with the homies that own cool stuff that I don't have. Arisaka and Garand collector bro, you're up, ffl with postie/transferable bro, you're up. Hell if they visit me here in Florida and @Wild_Arms_RandD has not bounced out of this fine state yet I'd be harassing him to bring his toys.
English

@RobProvince But if you want to go shooting with us... give a bit of advance notice... I want to stock up on more ammo
English

@1124Makoto If you ever visit Florida let me know and we'll go to the shooting range! - this is a standing invite to any Japanese X users that see it.

Leave it up to brand accounts to kill the wonderful trend.

@ozawaracing @The_Sourkraut Oh my wife is going to kill me, now I want a surplus firetruck Jimny too! That's really cool!

The AMF22 Atlas isn't too bad on parts here. The clutch slave cylinder is compatible with a D21/WD21 unit which we got. Suspension bushings are also D21 compatible. The diesel never was sold here, but unless you abuse them TD27s are quite reliable. Oil filters are compatible with Ford V8s. 😂😂 Brakes have been my biggest problem, but that will soon change. It appears I can adapt US market D21 rotors, calipers, and brake pads to it if I swap them all together and make an adapter to allow the caliper bracket to mount correctly. Wheels and tires were a challenge as it had 15.5" wheels which I cannot get tires for. Thankfully some off road/rally spec German made 16" Hilux wheels and 225/75R16 load range E tires actually exceed the capability of the stock 15.5 wheel and tire setup.

@Gadget612 Thanks!
I was surprised!
I didn't know you could drive a Japanese fire truck in the US!
It might be hard to get the truck parts.
English

Subaru is quite popular. My coworker loves his. I got the firetruck because my old truck was a 1988 Toyota RN61 "Pickup" - a US spec Hilux 4wd but IFS instead of solid front axle. Unfortunately it was badly abused when I got it and though I fixed it up, I was young and dumb and abused it a bit too. After 9 years of ownership it was having rust, electrical and cooling problems and I was out of motivation to keep up with its increasing list of faults to be repaired. I wanted to get a low mileage Hilux or 70 series LandCruiser but they are expensive in low km. That led me to HZJ75 LandCruiser firetrucks which were cheap as the LC fans here weren't fond of the cabin modifications done to make them firetruck. Unfortunately right as I got money saved up, someone made a video showing that those modifications could be undone and their prices climbed. Thus I looked for another 4wd W cab diesel truck from Japan with low km. This Atlas was on the importers website with only 10831km so it seemed perfect. It has been a wonderful truck! I've gone camping off road with it, drive it daily, and even used it to keep part of my work from flooding during a hurricane in 2024.

@MrWHOsecond2 Come to Florida and hit me up, we can do all those things. Plus you can tell your friends back home you somehow did all those things while riding in Aomori City Namioka Fire Department 14th Division's old Nissan Atlas firetruck

English

There are dozens if not hundreds of them in the US. I own the 1990 Atlas 150 4wd that belonged to Aomori City Namioka Fire Department. A guy I know in Georgia owns my truck's twin, a 1991 Nissan Atlas 150 4wd that also belonged to Aomori City Namioka Fire Department. The "Alligator Farm" zoo/conservation center in Saint Augustine, FL owns the J60 Land cruiser firetruck, and my Friends in St. Petersburg, FL own the Hijet Deckvan and Atlas 100 2wd.
