I joined Twitter to keep up w politics via pithy tweets from like-minded folk It didn't disappoint But then mom entered final stages of LBD. I continue to care for her Pretty intense stuff w little time for real writing. So I decided to tweet tiny moments of our long journey..

@AnnaBower @AnnaBower I still don't understand WHY Hicks started crying. Can you share your take on that?

Did Hope Hicks’ testimony help or hurt the prosecution? Why did Hicks cry on the stand? Should the National Enquirer win a Pulitzer for its Ben Carson coverage? And which witness will write a killer law school application essay about today? We discuss: m.youtube.com/watch?v=7Ml_px…

@Joseph_Fasano_ Love the poem. Very powerful. Superb imagery. "Lungs like crushed doves." Perfection. Re: the last line. Yes! Watching dementia steal pieces of my mom for years, I learned to focus on what *remains.* There is always something beautiful to be discovered. Always.

The last line of this poem is something I wrote to my mother when I was a young boy. She found it recently and gave it to me to cheer me up, so I used it to make this poem. It makes me think of all those who have suffered from from chronic illness, from covid, from anything... Perhaps it is also a poem about just waiting...waiting for change...

When my great grandparents Fine (Reuben and Rachel) came to NYC from Romania at the beginning of the last century, they started a Panama hat factory. In the mid-20s, their sons (Adolph, my grandfather, and Joe, my great uncle) opened a satellite factory in Montreal. 1/

This year, we caught up on our sons and our lives. There is a community of people who love and support folks with autism, and there’s a kinship in that community. Warms the heart. 3/

Adventures in Being K’s Dad. I’ve written here about my 29-year-old son, a young man with autism. This morning, we’re at the Phil. Intl. Airport to set off on a short family vacation. We got to the airport at 6 am and went to a restaurant for breakfast. 1/

@finedr1965 That's a great family tidbit—and your son looks snazzy!! Teddy Roosevelt, I believe, helped make them wildly popular for men at that time. (P.S. I speak Romanian. Does anyone in your family?)

Adolph’s great grandson wanted to try on a Panama hat this morning at the Miami airport. (I have no idea who was buying Panama hats in NYC or Montreal a century ago, but the family managed somehow.)
