Plz read this. It is the systematic destruction of our future being drafted before our eyes. 🙏🏾 The Adani Group is the developer & operator of the coal Block of Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (RVUNL). So it is Adani who wants to divert 1,742.6 hectares of prime forest and cut more 4.48 lakh trees of India’s green lung Hasdeo. Showing totally vogue reasons. They have claimed that the extension block will meet “future requirement of said projects.” This claim has been disputed by the Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan (CBA) - a grassroots movement of civil society, tribal groups and activists working to protect the forests in Hasdeo. They have cited the Central Electricity Authority has revised Rajasthan’s electricity requirements for the period up to 2035-36 to 16,561 MW from the previously projected 20,532 MW. Therefore, this very “future requirement” claim itself appears misleading. The Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan (CBA) has said that it seems to serve narrow, undisclosed interests rather than any genuine public need. Remember, saplings can never replace 100s of yrs old trees. Every such tree sustains its own ecosystem. If this monstrous capitalist hunger continues to consume the country this way, the damage will become irrecoverable. Plz start speaking up. We have already done immense damage to our future. 🙏🏾

Same trains. Same country. But in Mizoram, people carry their trash, follow rules, respect public spaces, and put others first. Their secret? Tlâwmngaihna — a way of life built on responsibility, humility, and community. From silent streets to spotless trains, Mizoram proves civic sense isn’t about stricter laws. It’s about values taught early and lived daily. Maybe the change India needs doesn’t begin with infrastructure — but with us.🌟 #Mizoram #CivicSense #IndianCulture #CommunityLiving #CleanIndia [Mizoram Civic Sense, Tlawmngaihna Values, Cleanest State In India, Community Responsibility, Indian Social Values]

Her name was Sindhutai Sapkal. She was born on November 14, 1948, in Wardha district, Maharashtra, into extreme poverty. Her family called her Chindi. A rag. Because to them, she was unwanted. She was married at nine years old to a man thirty years older. At twenty, she was pregnant with her fourth child. Her husband accused her of carrying another man’s child. He beat her and threw her out of the house. She gave birth that night alone in a cowshed. She cut the umbilical cord with a stone. She begged on trains to survive. She ate what people discarded. She slept in railway stations and cremation grounds. Then she saw a child crying alone on a platform. She picked the child up. Then another. Then another. She began collecting abandoned children from railway stations across Maharashtra. She gave each of them a name, an education, and a future. She gave her own biological daughter up for adoption so that none of her children would ever feel less loved than the others. She raised more than 1400 orphaned children. Over 200 of them became lawyers, doctors, and professors. She received the Padma Shri in 2021 and more than 750 national and international awards. She called all 1400 of them her children. All 1400 called her Maa. She passed away on January 4 2022. She was 73 years old. Follow for stories India deserves to remember.

🚨 THINK BEFORE YOU BUY A HOME 🚨 Your Home. Your Future. Our City. Don’t buy a home today that creates a bigger water problem tomorrow. ⚠️ The Hidden Trap in Many New Projects What builders tell PMC: The builder gives an undertaking that PMC need not provide water to the project. The builder claims he will arrange water through alternate sources at his own cost. What actually happens in your Sale Deed: The responsibility of arranging and paying for water is shifted to the Cooperative Housing Society and residents. You end up paying for tanker water—year after year. 💧 The Reality You Face Dependence on private tanker suppliers Poor or contaminated water quality Frequent shortages and irregular supply Constantly rising costs—running into crores per year for societies No accountability—builder exits after project completion Long-term stress on health, finances, and peace of mind ❗ By Buying Such Homes, You Become Part of the Problem You encourage this malpractice to continue You increase the burden on yourself and your society You normalize an unfair system where residents suffer and builders benefit ✅ Be the Change. Be Part of the Solution. Say NO to projects that shift water responsibility to residents Choose homes where the builder genuinely owns the commitment Make informed decisions that support sustainable urban living 📝 Ask These Questions Before You Buy Has the builder given an undertaking to PMC about water supply? Who is responsible for water supply in the Sale Deed? Will the cost of water be borne by the builder or residents? What is the long-term source of water? Can the society sustain recurring tanker expenses? 📢 Final Message Your NO today can save CRORES tomorrow. Don’t buy where water responsibility is passed on to you. 👉 Say NO. Stay Safe. Save More. 🤝 Let’s Build Responsible Communities Responsible citizens create stronger, sustainable cities. Think beyond possession—think about long-term impact. Be a responsible buyer. Be part of the solution. @KhswaPune @CleanKharadi @htTweets @timesofindia @ThePuneMirror @aaplasurendra

In Feb this year, Maharashtra’s Forest minister #GaneshNaik had proposed a scheme to cash on teakwood forest to support govt’s Ladki Bahin scheme thats otherwise draining the state’s treasury. And now this news of cutting over one lakh trees from reserved forest in Gadchiroli, rich in teak, to make way for Iron Ore mining. The wise can very well connect the dots here! Forest dept officials have been saying that the Ladki Bahin is taking away funds from forest, education, health and many other crucial sectors. But who cares?!! “The forest proposed for diversion is a single unbroken 937-hectare block within the Bhamragad Reserve Forest — a southern tropical dry deciduous jungle dominated by teak and bamboo, supporting Indian gaur, sloth bear, leopard, dhole, tiger and the central Indian giant squirrel, where approximately 123,000 trees could be felled to make way for an iron ore project.”
menaka doshi@menakadoshi

The Forest Advisory Committee has approved a plan to fell approximately 123,000 trees. The clearing of this massive tract of contiguous jungle in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli is to be offset by planting replacement forest 1,000 kilometres away, in 23 fragmented patches, on land the government’s own data shows is already largely forested. hindustantimes.com/india-news/for…

In April 2023, when some of us met a prominent politician from the ruling party, to urge him to scrap BB road and save the forest on Vetal tekdi, he snidely remarked that if we loved forests so much, he'd build houses for us in Gardchiroli. Looks like that won't be an option now. 🙄 hindustantimes.com/india-news/for…

A. Rishi Kumar, a final-year student of Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU), did not bow to pressure from the University to delete the article, titled “The Supreme Court of India has no Spine”. Here he criticised the Supreme Court’s ban on a Class 8 NCERT civics textbook and its decision to blacklist its authors for their mention of judicial corruption. He wrote "The Court has decided, in its grand old wisdom, that eighth graders, who are doing algebra and learning refractions, are simply too dumb to handle a basic civics chapter that spends fourteen pages praising the judiciary and two paragraphs acknowledging its flaws." My respect to Rishi. You are awesome! Anyone want to read the article, ask me in comments - I shall provide you the link.

Be ready to see a something similar come up on #VetalTekdi once BB Road is built. We live in a sad world, if pristine forests on the hill and along the river are removed to make way for tekdi and nadi kaath chowpatties like this. Public health, climate crisis, AQI, groundwater - these don't seem to matter at all to @shrinathbhimale and PMC. It's only about monetizing every inch of available land.

1. Rinku Singh cleared the PCS exam in 2004. 2. In 2009, he exposed a ₹100 crore pension and scholarship scam. 3. For exposing corruption, he was shot 7 times, with 2 bullets hitting his face. 4. He survived, recovered, and went on to become an IAS officer in 2022. 5. Now he has resigned, reportedly because he was denied a field posting. 6. This reflects a broken system where honest officers are sidelined while corrupt ones often get powerful field roles. 7. If the public does not stand with honest officers, integrity will keep being punished and corruption will keep thriving.

India’s only city where you can drink straight from the tap—no boiling, no filters, no fear. 💧 Puri transformed its broken water system into a 24×7, BIS-certified supply using smart pipelines, IoT monitoring, and community trust. From massive leakages to clean water at every tap, this isn’t just infrastructure—it’s belief restored. This Odisha Day, we ask — if one city can do it, why not others? #CleanWater #SustainableIndia #UrbanTransformation #OdishaDay #Odisha [Tap Water In India, Puri Water Project, Clean Drinking Water, Smart Water Management, Sustainable Cities, Odisha Day]

Why is India not a tourism superpower ? 1. Unsafe roads, no pavements, stray animals 2. Dirt, garbage, and lack of hygiene 3. Petty corruption 4. Traffic chaos 5. Poor global branding and perception management 6. Tourism stuck in state-level red tape 7. Pollution 8. No proper city or tourist site infrastructure 9. Inconsistent service standards 10.Biggest of all- lack of civic sense We have everything- mountains, deserts, beaches, history, spirituality. Yet Malaysia, Turkey, Singapore, Thailand and even the UAE attract more tourists each year than we do. So the issue isn’t what we have. It’s how we manage it. Potential is not our problem. Execution is. 🇮🇳

Mother’s Milk Is Not Ours 👍 Even Shri Amitabh Bachchan ji has acknowledged a simple truth.. a mother’s milk in the dairy industry is meant for her baby, not for humans. Milk does not come from machines. It comes from a mother who is forcefully bred, separated from her child, and milked for profit. Her baby is deprived of nourishment and love, while we are taught to see milk as “normal” and “essential”. Motherhood is sacred; for every species. Respecting mothers also means respecting the right of animal mothers to feed their own babies. It’s time to question habits, traditions, and industries built on injustice. Choose food that does not come from suffering.
