Goober is blind 😞 We spotted this boy at the other shelter last night and he came as an extra because last minute we could see he was blind. That’s been confirmed today at the vets. He has Progressive retinal atrophy. A shelter is no place for a blind worried boy so let’s share and get him a wonderful home please. He’s 5yrs old … please please, let’s get him a home 🏠🩷🙏

We went with the NUT theme for our new thirteen! Today we’ve started vet checks and we noticed Peanut, a greyhound (maybe mix) bred here in Spain kept screaming each time we touched her mouth. It turns out she has a big abscess and infection inside and needs an operation 😩 She’s on antibiotics now and will be operated on soon to remove some teeth causing the problem. She’s super sweet and even when in so much pain never once showed any aggression. Peanut 🥜 is an adorable girl and is around 5yrs old 😍

Quick update on Vengala who went to a new home in Barcelona recently 😍 What do you think? Struggling to settle in ?? 😅 She’s doing amazing and is already running the work place 😅 Thank you to these amazing adopters ❤️

I just asked Mr Pickles if he could be serious for 5 seconds so we could get a reasonable photo of him… not an option 😅 Ohhhh Mr Pickles 🥒🙈😂 He sees the Nuero vet next week to see if we are on the right path as it seems he can’t stop not even for a second!

Update on the new young Galgo that arrived recently. We’ve been inundated with requests to adopt but to let you know he’s been reserved for a home in Barcelona and will leave soon 💕♥️ He’s a cheeky monkey but ever so loving 🥰

Romeo has had his operation and it was more complicated due to the depth of the femur head. Anyway he’s doing great and we are hopeful for a good recovery ♥️ Thank you to everyone who supports us 🙏🏻 Because of you these dogs get everything they need ☺️

Kellogg doesn’t have a home yet. He’s a sweet funny little boy that loves to play and be silly 🥰 Mum is a small podenca and whilst she was once scared she’s also now super friendly and fun. One happy family but all need families of their own 💕

Poland is a stunning black boy looking for a home 😍 He’s approx 18mths old, maybe a bit older and is a sweet confident boy. He originally came from the other shelter we help and was in a large group of dogs doing well. He’s good on a lead, engages nicely and would be grateful for a home 🏠 Can we get Poland a nice family? Mordi is 6yrs old and quite a shy lad in kennels. He’s definitely going to thrive once he leaves & finds a home ❤️ The boys get no where near the enquiries the girls get which is a shame. Mordí is great with other dogs, good on a lead, doesn’t react much or bark.. he’s super sweet and gentle. Check out his little head dent. Not sure why he has that. Will you share ? 🙏🏻❤️

Sangria is a sweet girl needing a home 😍 She was found in Madrid and came to GDS. She’s around 7 to 8yrs old and is looking for a quiet retirement. She’s gentle, lovely with other dogs and has improved very much in confidence. Will you give her a share so we can get her out of the kennels and into a hone? 🙏🏻❤️

📣📣📣URGENT📣📣📣 Saving 80 dogs from the Toledo perrera! You may remember last summer we managed to get out 80 dogs (actually 90) from a perrera that was closing down. Believe it or not, behind the scenes it’s not all solved yet. Some have only recently left private residence to go to their foster homes and Clarence here we’ve just been told will no longer be taken by the group that reserved him so we desperately need to find him another place 🙏🏻 He’s still in Spain and we can pay for transport if a place can be made for him. He’s 5yrs old, seems friendly when I’ve been around him. I don’t know about other dogs but that will be up to the group to carefully test him. Can we share for Clarence because he can’t be left where he is at the residence with nobody taking responsibility. Thank you ❤️🥴

Update on Lagarita who was adopted in Madrid recently. Well … it looks like the boss has allowed her onto the sofa 😅

Mopsy needs a loving home. Can you help her? 🙏🏻 She was handed in by a Galguero who didn’t want her because she ate the rabbit 🐰 She’s 5yrs old and was a scared girl on arrival. Now she’s playing fetch and is really wanting to bond with people. She’s not solid confident and another dog would help but she’s really getting there. Guess what?? It’s happy time. Time to see some of our rescues doing great in their new homes. Thank you to all those that continue to respect the safety rules to keep the dogs safe. We appreciate it ♥️

Hank approves of Kiwi 🥝 Did you know Hank was found on the road paralyzed in 2013? We operated on him and he’s been my bestest lad ever since. He must be about 14-15yrs now old now. In the house he’s been the only boy since Lucas, Jason, guapo, Tiburon and Odin left us. His old neck injury is playing up a bit causing bad co-ordination so he’s declining a bit but he’s hanging on in there and still loving life ❤️ He’s glad to have another lad around in amongst the many girls we have 😅

Pepo is 7yrs old and already spent 4yrs in another refuge. He came to GDS in hope we could help change his fate and find him a home. He’s a shy boy but the type once in a home he’ll move forward quickly. The kennels are just too much. He’s good on a lead, just easily spooked so the safety harness is essential and GPS. He’s great with other dogs, in fact he would prefer a home with other dogs that can help him feel at ease. As I said, get him in a home and he’s going to be amazing ♥️❤️💕 Please share Pepo and let’s get those little grey furry chops a home 🩷
