The older I get, the more I understand why older women disappear into gardening, candles, comfy clothes, and silence.

Shift more local funding to sales taxes, tourism taxes, commercial properties, vacant land taxes, and shared utility fees. Homeowners could still pay a small base fee for core services like police, fire, roads, and schools but not have t be taxed as heavily just for owning a fully paid-off primary home.

@GallFAM4 Do you stop using community services (schools, roads, fire dept/ambulance) when you own your home?

Why the fuck do people have to keep Paying property taxes if they own their home?? If any of us ever get there, because I think the boomers were the last to be able to outright own a home with a regular job, we can lose it at any time if we don’t pay property taxes which can ridiculously high in some states( including Florida). This is bullshit. Oh and if you have an HOA and don’t pay that they’ll take your shit too. 😡 #rigged
