21 #aurora recorded in 2026 so far. Some so faint only recorded by camera and I know I missed several more due to clouds.

Wasn't expecting much last night but wow the #aurora really delivered! Images from 1am UT.

Unexpectedly, woke up to clear skies yesterday, Sky getting light at 3am. Thought I would try the Dwarflab 3 on Splinter Galaxy NGC 5706 supernova - SN2026kid. The capabilities of these little telescope is impressive. Comparing with other images I think it is fading.

@SkyandTelescope Only once seen a 3.5 Questar up close. It was so beautiful in engineering terms and looks. Shame the company has gone after so many years.

Well that was unexpected. Just as I wrapped a tour of the night sky the #aurora erupted.

Up at 4.30am BST - very surprised to have clear skies. This is why I love the Dwarflab 3 - set it in Az and was imaging C/2025 R3 PANSTARRS in minutes as dawn approached. Tail about 1.5 deg long. (Not sure why its blue after processing)

@NutellaUSA Caught it too. I think Blue Danube would have been better.

Crazy to see home as a small crescent from the far side of the Moon. Shame Moon will not rise for another 1 1/2 hrs.

In case anyone wants to see the Moon while Artemis does flyby it will not rise until about 2am on 7th (UK)

My new home is bortle 2, I can see the Orion Nebula from my window!! This is awesome, a shame the North sky is cloudy!

@VirtualAstro @colinrispin @NASA I was wondering if you were referring to the Orientale Basin that Artemis crew talked about as that would have been in darkness for Apollo 8 and possibly for the other Apollos.

Being in a dark sky park I was keen to visit @Gallowayastro tonight but my car had other ideas 🙄 praying for another clear night during my trip 🙏🏼 In the meantime, i’ve got the bins out 👀 What a sight to behold ✨ ✨ ✨
