Since doctors’ pay is being debated on here again, I’ve noticed that people who oppose a pay rise use one straw man argument: a doctors pay will eventually rise to a ceiling higher than most professions, so a pay rise is not warranted. This is silly: a thread

I’ve seen someone else on here suggest that the retired doctor who wrote this was a “junior” doctor in 1974 when he was “happy with £7,500” Just so we’re all clear on the maths: £7,500 in 1974 in today’s money is: 🔹 £114,756 by RPI inflation. 🔸 £72,046 by CPI inflation.

@lengreview On the webinars. Dr L comments on RC guidelines re supervision but no questions/ comments about how that scope will be enforced. Prof accepts that PA/AA roles are more present in less resourced environments - this will compound the enforcement concerns.

Yesterday the Leng review came to Derriford (Plymouth) to hear all sides of the issue surrounding PAs in the NHS. Derriford is well known for employing a high number of PAs and so it makes sense for them to visit. The review is meant to be unbiased and fair.
