This is the problem we want to face head on, so DeFi can continue growing
The seamless, open, interoperable nature of DeFi when it was on one chain is something that MUST be preserved in the multichain future
There are many teams working towards this goal, but sometimes I think on a narrow sliver of the tech stack
This is why I am so excited that we're building a team with full-stack technical expertise across:
- frontend (wallet, web, browser extension)
- APIs (route discovery, data)
- intents (uniswapX, crosschain uniswapX/eip7683)
- smart contracts (AMM, routing)
- chain development (unichain, sequencing, eip1153)
We believe our breadth of expertise combined with a large userbase gives us a unique perspective that we can bring to the table, and collaborate with the broader industry to build out the right standards and abstraction layers

im bullish on appchain thesis (although I think there are too many of L2s coming). The only issue that i find, and i know multiple orgs are working on it, is the implementation itself. Chain abstraction is still nascent. So ultimately, we are making user onboarding hard. Switching between multiple networks on the wallets, learning new mechanisms, new things etc make the new user experience hard. I think that's the one pitfall that I see with appchain thesis. It is inevitable, but we need to implementation to be near perfect imho

Excited to announce @unichain
This is a labor of love based on 6 years of designing and building in the DeFi space
We think what we're building will be the best home for DeFi
Unichain is built on top of the Superchain - with a few new additions that we're bringing to the table:
a fast, provable block builder that will make transactions feel ~instant, reduce MEV loss, and enforce fair transaction ordering
a decentralized network of validators that add an additional layer of finality and economic security on top of the sequencer
a focus on user experience and crosschain interop - as part of joining the Superchain, and also through our work on ERC7683 - we will be building out crosschain user experiences that are even better than the experience of swapping within a single chain today
The internet of value can't run on a single chain. Ethereum's rollup-centric roadmap aims to scale by having many L2 chains that seamlessly interface with each other. We are excited by this vision, and aim to accelerate it
Unichain will be MIT licensed, and we hope to see our tech adopted by others.
