No. This is a joke and my attempt at dry humor. Every video game since the beginning of time is a combination of artist vison + computer lift. That's what separates a video game from a painting or a sculpture. It is no different with DLSS. And people complaining about DLSS should also be complaining about FSR, as they are both generative AI and have been since version 1.0.

@GameLogIQ Question: If the artist intended or used these tools to build their 'vision', notwithstanding the ownership implications of the art to begin with, where does it stop being the original 'vision' and start being something else? Is the 'something else' open to copyright issues?

A more accurate comparison between what nVidia already does now and the delta to DLSS5.

Not at all. The truth is that there is no safe place to publish. Whether you go PC, mobile, or console, you’re going into an incredibly concentrated revenue environment on a per title basis compared to what publishes each year, discoverability is atrocious unless you can afford to pay to be front-paged and top-lined, and so really you’re hugely dependent on the media and, as you said, for these directs and indie showcases.

@GameLogIQ PC is a big market but when applied with scrutiny the math doesn’t math for everyone there

On average, PlayStation sold 6 - 8 million copies of software per year from 2020 - 2025 on Steam. Steam occupies 70 - 85% of the storefront retail digital market (so discounting digital software sold directly by publishers and Studios). On PC, if you want the most eyeballs on your game, you put it on Steam. Steam publishes 19k games per year. PlayStation, in aggregate, across all product categories, averages 5. PlayStation averaged $500mn per year selling games off-platform. If they maintained the same sell-through via their own store, that’d go up to $650mn average per year. That’s ~2.06% of their total annual revenue. To host their own store there would be addl costs in Cloud-spend for presence, storage, and data egress/ingress. Addl employees (or managed service costs) to staff SRE & DevOPS. I assume any account managers acting as liaison with Valve would be flipped to their own store. The notion of this being packed with day-and-date doesn’t get rid of the problem of selling PS5’s, which drives $32bn of their business.

@Blackimmortal0 I’m hoping people will look at the math and draw their own conclusions on the veracity of the rumor based on its source. But.

@GameLogIQ Theoretically speaking. This mock-up store front going around isn't real. It's AI generated. But I like the way you think.

Death Stranding 2 PC performance tested with an RTX 5090 and a Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Ray Tracing looks great, but very heavy, halving FPS in some areas. No shader compilation on launch, I've experienced no stutter. Great options menu too! youtu.be/DC6gXgb5hrE

@BRAP_Podcast Is that an Xbox? I thought PC gaming had become unaffordable in 2026? Hopefully you bought to a $750 min-spec since that’s all you need to match a PS5 Pro.

B/c the games media hasn't reported anything but rumors & leaks in 2026, Gaming Twitter has devolved more so than ever into the rumors that people cherry-pick to believe to corroborate their platform preference and narrative. This rumor is true but oh, no, not that one. I mean, it's always been that way, mixed in with other stuff, but now it seems that's literally all there is. In one camp, until Starfield, they were still hanging on to "it's not the whole late", b/c the statement was never said out loud (no red line was), and despite the fact that stuff keeps coming over.

People act like leaks are always accidental. However, corporations literally use “trial balloons” which is effectively a strategy where information is fed to journalists to test public reaction and “strategic leaks” to put out news that could be perceived as negative in order to manage expectations. These are well known tactics. Ask yourself... What benefit would Sony gain from publicly announcing that it’s pulling back on PC? Many corporations wind down support for underperforming products without ever issuing a formal statement. Did Costco draft/release a public relations statement to inform consumers they were pulling Xbox consoles off their shelves? No, @DestinLegarie reached out out to someone at Costco Head Office/PR and the community ran with his statement.
Aldain@Aldain_zero

@TheGamingLedger Sony never officially stated that they are moving on from PC
