@randykunin @latsondheimer If I may- you are very much correct. Burn out for ADs is a big deal. They either step away because they cannot do it all at the level they want/should OR they half-a— it and let so many things go, not caring. District and boosters are the biggest factors in this.

@latsondheimer This is good in theory for big schools. What about small schools / communities? Where there enrollment is low around 250 or less. Those schools with around 100 students and are unsure if will even have enough players to even field a team

What I don't like about the Open Division is now you're in the quarterfinals, knockout round like every other division. La Mirada won on the road and Harvard Westlake won at home. In every other division La Mirada would get the home game in the semifinals. For whatever reason, seeds take priority in the Open knockout rounds so La Mirada is on the road again. Fourth straight road game in the playoffs. C'mon man.

@overtime This is a joke. If I recall, they lost to So Carl’s St John Bosco…and Bosco got knocked out of the playoffs first round. If they can’t beat our #16 team, how can they claim to be champs w/o playing CA’s State Champs? What a farce!

To be a public school high school football coach is to be putting others first, to stay positive no matter the bureaucracy, to keep sacrificing in the face of repeated obstacles. It's not a job for everybody. But at its best, it must be fulfilling.
