@Sonny5325 should be the ones being held accountable here. I'm not saying every cashier in the world needs to be experts on the ESRB rating system but just like with alcohol, they should at least have a flagging system for these games and know that 'Oh, Mature content needs an adult'. (2)

@Sonny5325 My issue isn't with the rating system, it's with the people and places selling them. There's a whole rating system in use that accurately describes these games contents, which parents ignore, leading to kids playing inappropriate games, which then get blamed. The retailers (1)

The problem with Illinois Rep. Marcus Evans, Jr's proposed bill to change how violent games are defined and sold is that it would change nothing. Businesses already have the option to card people for games sales (when I worked for @Target the registers actually stop the sale (1)

which needs to be more upfront. Put the breakdown of the rating (where it includes things like Alcohol content, Violence, Sexual Themes, etc) on the front of the box, encourage retailers to explain WHY they're being carded. USE the rating system.

when you try to ring an M rated game and requires a valid ID card). Businesses aren't upholding the limits of selling to minors as it is, when the ability to do so can be baked into point of sale system itself. It's also on the parents for not understanding the rating system (2)
