Atlus Persona Studio Head Kazuhisa Wada says turn based elements in games shouldn't fade away and have timeless appeal:
"I don't think turn‑based elements are something we should let fade away"
"I don't personally feel that turn-based systems are particularly popular at the moment, but I do sense that recent critically acclaimed games have brought renewed attention to them. I suspect the perception of turn-based combat as outdated – almost like a fossil – came about because many developers followed trends and shifted toward action or action-oriented gameplay instead of refining high-quality turn-based designs."
"the sense of exhilaration and accomplishment that turn-based gameplay can deliver has always been there," and remains a "timeless appeal of games."

@KyleCampbellArt I hope so I want a new story i loved the direction Star Fox Assault took it. I drink to forget Command.
English

@LegendofH3r0 Different story beats still ultimately told effectively the same as 64 did. I'm just hoping this does good for once so we can get an actual good original story.... Command was just a letdown.
English

@LegendofH3r0 They've retreaded the same story 4 times. Star Fox (Snes) Star Fox 64, Star Fox Zero, and then this new one. I want a new story. I'm tired of seeing this same story over and over. You can slice it as a reboot or a remake, but we've been told the same plot. Even Zero which took

Can we retire the brain-dead 'Star Fox 64 has been remade five times' take already? The amount of confident bullshit on this app is exhausting!
Star Fox (SNES, 1993): The original.
Star Fox 2 (SNES, unreleased until SNES Mini/NSO): A distinct, different game (more open-world elements, different campaign).
Star Fox 64 (N64, 1997): A reboot of the original with a new story, upgraded graphics/tech, and the classic branching path structure.
Star Fox Assault (GameCube, 2005): Completely original story continuation, new mechanics like on-foot sections, tank/walker modes, and multiplayer focus. Not a remake.
Star Fox 64 3D (3DS, 2011): Straight-up enhanced port/remaster of Star Fox 64 with gyro controls and better visuals. Basically the same game.
Star Fox Zero (Wii U, 2016): Not a remake. It starts similar but quickly goes its own way with a different campaign, levels, bosses, and story beats. It's a reimagining with new gameplay (dual-screen stuff)
Star Fox (Switch 2, June 25, 2026): This is indeed the first proper modern remake of Star Fox 64, ground up visuals, redesigned characters, added co-op and multiplayer, while staying faithful to the core game

@RinoTheBouncer Please tell me hiw keeping up with the Kardashians is going for you?

@SennoAzure These consoles have become to damn expensive
English

@SennoAzure At this point a robust lineup isn't even enough to make me buy a console. I bought a PS5 three years ago and it will probably be the last console I buy.
English

@SennoAzure I'll take things that aren't true for 100 Alex

@warper2509 Persona 5 Royal or Persona 3 Reloaded are going to feel most modern in gameplay, but story wise they are all incredible. If you do go back to play Persona 1 and 2 just not those play more like early SMT games then modern Persona and are still good in their own right.

I joked with my friend when I said Nintendo was gonna be the next cinematic universe...... I don't think thats a joke anymore. We went from the MCU to the NCU

NINTENDO is now actively developing a STAR FOX film to be produced by Illumination. Source: @DanielRPK

@TheCesarcade That's my main problem with it is the retreading of the the plot. Still think they could have built something unique with Star Fox Assault had they kept running with it.
English

I think I’m more excited about the online multiplayer than a retread of 64’s campaign. But at this point I’ll take whatever Star Fox content Nintendo throws at us.

@superange128 Nice knock at command by the way that was awful.
English

@GamingWSpoons Well when their attempts at "new" a 3D action collecathon, a full linear game with only 10 levels, and a portable game with only all range mode and fanfiction-tier story
They should probably find a formula that actually works than something new
English

@superange128 Fair, id just wish they'd gone with an original story lol
English

@StutteringCraig I asking hiw many times Nintendo needs to retell the same story.... this is 4 times now.
