As we stride towards the last week of term there is a lot to celebrate: Big Cat Sanctuary Trip; Cheerleading display; Colour Run; Leeds Castle Trip....fun, adventure, team work....

What a whirlwind of a term it has been already. From empowering house activities, Father's Day Breakfast, Djembe drumming, village Fete, to welcoming new families, the school has been buzzing with energy every week!

Many congratulations everyone, once again we have been awarded the Wellbeing Award for Schools for our continued commitment to promoting emotional wellbeing and mental health across our school. An amazing achievement, thoroughly deserved.

We are pleased to announce that we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark for 2024/25. The School Games Mark rewards schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school & into the community. THx to Mrs Mileham for leading the school to success.

Another wonderful Sports Day & a big well done to all the children. They showed sportsmanship & truly embodied all our school values. A fantastic win for Finchcocks in KS1 & KS2. There was an incredible community feeling all day & it was really great to see so many parents.

What a lot we have crammed into a short term! A mini #MARATHON , Morris dancers, dance-a-thon, #VEDay celebrations, an Arts Festival, a pilgrimage to Kilndown, #Egyptian Day, WW11 day to name but a few! Well done to all the children and staff for their hard work this term.

The arrival of the 'Living Eggs' in Kudus Class on Tuesday, created great excitement as all ten eggs have hatched and the children have watched eagerly as the chicks became mobile. Even our resident chicken Craggy was amazed with our new fluffy friends. youtube.com/watch?v=JiMyBn…

Today we 'brought the whole Federation together, to collaborate & make new friends on the way'. Year group peers engaged in different team activities, played together & we enjoyed a Federation Church Service, led by both Rev. Rachel & Rev. David. A wonderful day was had by all.

We have come to the end of another busy term: World Book Day, Mother's Day Lunch, Knights' School YRR, 'Sunset and Supper' YR3, a brilliant performance of Twelth Night by YR5, Science Fair, a very successful Ofsted, Kudus Cafe to name but a few of the incredible events we've had.

Over 50 children from across both our schools took place in the inaugural 10:10 Federation Science Extravaganza! We had over 150 visitors to see exhibitions ranging from exploding volcanoes to strawberry DNA extraction! The exhibition really did embody all of our school values.

Another amazing @WorldBookDayUK well done to everyone. Lots of fun activities all about different #BooksWorthReading and the importance of #Reading for pleasure.

To test air resistance, we designed a fair test to see if the size of a parachute canopy impacted the time the parachute took to fall to the ground. We had great fun creating & testing our parachutes - which thanks to Mrs Khan in the office, were made using actual parachute silk!

Meanwhile, Elder Group had noticed the bluebell shoots poking up through the leaf litter so they decided it would be a good idea to mark out some paths & a bit of woodland & camp maintenance. There was also plenty of fun! youtube.com/watch?v=MRncyZ…

Birch Group had another special visitor...Bramble! Bramble has been busy designing & creating a special interactive map of Broad Oak Woods. They were given the opportunity to test out the 2nd prototype based on tweaks worked on with YR5 before Christmas. youtube.com/watch?v=ahYK3w…

YR5 have had a wonderful day today learning all about the #Vikings .  As well as dressing up, we have made a Rune necklace, carved clay Viking models, held a zoom with a Viking storyteller & completed two scavenger hunts, using Runes for clues. Well done everyone, an amazing day.

Last week as a school we celebrated #MentalHealthMatters Week- 'Know Yourself, Grow yourself.' Throughout the week children have been doing a range of activities to support their Mental Health, such as yoga, wellbeing bingo, art, walking and wear your scarf day!

The @YoungVoices choir went to the @The02 in London for the concert they had been preparing for since September! We were united together with 8500 other children as the largest choir in the world! We sang some amazing songs from different artists all with such enthusiasm.

A team of YR5&6 girls took part in a girl's football event. The girls mixed with pupils from other wealden schools & they all played beautifully & enjoyed making new friends. Congratulations to Rose, Sofia, Elsie & Evie for winning medals for Most Valuable Players & Spirit awards
