#healthed teachers- does anyone have experience working with the Circles Curriculum for Adaptive Health and students with special needs?

I have a large class with some tough personalities that struggle behaviorally when we do hands-on activities. Any ideas on communication activities that demonstrate miscommunication in a controlled setting? #healthed #communication

Throwing this out there: I teach 2 sections of Adaptive Health to sts who range from medically fragile to non-verbal autism. I have an idea for a final project titled "healthy me" to showcase what they've learned but no clue what this will look like. Thoughts? #healthed #Sped

@JennyWamsley Unfortunately, I have no advice to offer- I spent a bit of time looking into it but our district has not adopted the method so I'm still struggling to understand what it would look like in my classroom. We are project-based which is different from all other building subjects.

@CoachMatheson Our school has changed some vocabulary- instead of "core" and "special area/elective" subjects, we are "block" and "non-block". Small change but it helps

Do you ever feel like you have to justify yourself because you're "just" an "elective" teacher? How do you advocate for our profession to be treated like the "core" subjects? #HealthEd #QuestionOfTheDay

There's a real need for all kids to understand about periods and erections, so we all understand each other's bodies. That really sets the stage for healthy communication and intimate relationships, if they so choose, growing up.” npr.org/sections/healt…
