@MugfordSimon @tempmil93 Are the mitigations durable and able to withstand operations, or will they fail quickly and be hard/impossible/not a priority to replace in the field.

@tempmil93 Well exactly is it safe to use for 6 hrs at 20 mph or is it fully safe to use in full fledged operations at full pelt with crews spending days in it?

Is it "safe" safe, or just "safe"? That's the main question. We have to trust the experts, but I hope the industrial concerns haven't been allowed to weigh too heavily on the decision making process. We've recently seen from NMH that HMT will foist programmes when they want to.

@lembitopik @MarkHat11781084 Absolute drivel. Our remaining oil and gas is in smaller, deeper and harder to extract pockets. We are not sitting on some magical lake that is not being used. Coal? Really? The last coal power station was using imported coal because the U.K. cost of production is so high.

Britain has enough oil, coal & gas to last generations. Sadly, we haven’t got politicians smart enough to use it. Carbon dioxide isn’t killing our way of life. Government is

Last week I had the pleasure of one of @KateFantom’s team coming to service my car on my drive in Scotland. I have followed James for many years and see Cleevely go from just him doing moon mileage round the country to over a dozen techs. Great service from Craig!

Westerners have become second-class citizens in their own countries. A public school in Calgary banned all food from its cafeteria and lunchroom during Ramadan. Westerners were told it was inappropriate to say “Merry Christmas.” Now those same Westerners are expected to surrender public spaces so others can practice their religion. The Freedom Convoy faced wartime measures to suppress constitutional rights, while Al-Quds Day protesters enjoy freedom of expression. Look across the Atlantic and the pattern becomes even clearer. Pakistani grooming gangs were covered up, while UK citizens are jailed for “offensive” social media posts. Western courts increasingly hand out lighter sentences to violent offenders based on race. None of this is compassion. It is the slow inversion of a civilization.

@MarieBell626390 @ajgrundy1980 @Peston They take up a tiny amount of farmland, much less than incredibly inefficient growing of maize to feed biodigesters to make gas. My friend is turning the least productive field on his farm to the best one. This haul and “leaking metals” stuff is just pure propaganda lines.

@richardkgill @DailyMail To impact prices you have to significantly increase supply vs the market volumes. We cannot do that, our remaining exploitable oil and gas is not some vast unlocked resource.

@DailyMail Wheat, like oil and gas are all globally priced. When wheat prices spiked after Ukraine, the Government encouraged more UK production. Yet with energy we’re told domestic supply is pointless. 🤷🏻‍♂️

@Carl__P_ @TheSolarShed How is it flushed down the toilet? Over 60% of our electricity right now now is coming from wind. The alternative is burning some more expensive gas. Not sure who that helps?

@thinkdefence There’s an awful lot of nonsense written about energy though. So any commentators and politicians pretending we could be self sufficient have lower prices with more drilling and fracking. It is infuriating to see, as it is not reality at all. Like defence there’s no quick fix

@RobertJenrick This is a lie, there is absolutely no way that more drilling to fracking in the U.K. can bring down the price of either Brent crude or European wholesale gas. Simple supply and demand, there’s is very little extractable resources left. Stop pretending.

It is economic lunacy to ignore our rich energy reserves. Reform will unapologetically drill in the North Sea for oil and gas. We’ll get bills down and bring back good jobs.

I feel like I've said this a hundred times at this point: no Western military is adequately prepared to defend against FPV drones. (And the pilot in this case was a rank amateur.)
OSINTtechnical@Osinttechnical

For the first time, an Iranian-backed militia has carried out an FPV drone attack in Iraq, an incredibly dangerous new development. Seen here, the FPV munition flies around Victory Base near Baghdad International Airport before slamming into a building.

@heyimby @DanielJHannan @raymasseytweets I am aware of the very well proven theory of supply and demand. However, the issue is the recoverable supply is far too small to any impact on the price of Brent crude or European wholesale price of gas.

@GarethDeanPR @DanielJHannan @raymasseytweets I'm not OP, but it's simple supply and demand. You would be increasing supply. Oil prices have already gone down in the past when the US started shale fracking around 2014-2016. I don't know what you're trying to argue....

You ban North Sea drilling. You ban fracking. You tax customers at the pump. You hit producers with retrospective taxes. And now you have the nerve to turn around and blame rising costs on the fuel companies.
Keir Starmer@Keir_Starmer

If fuel companies try to rip off customers, my government will step in. @RachelReevesMP and @Ed_Miliband are bringing the bosses of the fuel companies in today, to make sure that customers aren’t losing out because of the conflict in the Middle East.
