@julierussell38 @chatswithem @metoffice If the treatments actually worked, they’d be welcomed by the NHS, as some of them are pretty cheap. They are not, because they don’t. I’d something cannot be shown to be working in a clinical trial, then it is just a ln expensive placebo.

Today has been the hottest day in May on record with Kew Gardens provisionally reaching 34.8°C - exceeding the previous highest May temperature in the UK by a full 2 degrees Celsius🌡️ This heat would be exceptional in the UK even in mid summer, let alone in May📈

Boom: 🤯 North Scotland has now run at zero-carbon electricity for over 3 weeks continuously. That is 21 days and 18 hours, or 1,044 consecutive half-hour periods, at 0 gCO₂/kWh from 04 May 2026 22:00 to 26 May 2026 16:00 UTC. This is not a single windy afternoon or a cherry-picked snapshot. North Scotland has now recorded: • 669 strict zero-carbon days since 2020 • 147 strict zero-carbon days in 2024 • 128 in 2025 • 82 already in 2026 YTD During this record run the generation mix was: • 96.2% wind • 3.8% solar • 0.0% fossil This is what long term grid decarbonisation looks like. Not a momentary spike, but a sustained shift in how electricity systems operate. We have provisionally broken the UK record for highest daily minimum temperature in May... again 😮 Temperatures didn't fall below 21.3°C overnight at Kenley Airfield, making it a 'tropical night' (no lower than 20°C). Remarkably, the record was also broken yesterday.

🚨BREAKING🚨 Russian fighter jets repeatedly intercepted a British surveillance plane over the Black Sea during a series of “dangerous” flybys.   A series of aggressive actions last month, revealed today, saw one Russian Su-35 warplane fly close enough to trigger emergency systems on the RAF Rivet Joint aircraft, including disabling the autopilot system. In another dangerous intercept, a Russian Su-27 aircraft conducted six passes in front of the British aircraft, flying within 20ft of the Rivet Joint’s nose. The jets were travelling at speeds of about 500mph. Video footage, released by the Ministry of Defence on Wednesday evening, showed one of the Russian jets - armed with air-to-air missiles - cutting directly in front of the RAF plane. The Rivet Joint aircraft was carrying out a routine flight in international airspace over the Black Sea and was unarmed, which is part of the UK’s work alongside allies to secure Nato’s Eastern Flank. This week, representatives from the UK Ministry of Defence and the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office démarched the Russian Embassy to condemn the pilots’ dangerous and unacceptable behaviour. Defence Secretary John Healey MP said: “This incident is another example of dangerous and unacceptable behaviour by Russian pilots, towards an unarmed aircraft operating in international airspace. These actions create a serious risk of accidents and potential escalation. “I would like to pay tribute to the outstanding professionalism and bravery of the RAF crew who continued with their mission despite these dangerous actions. “Let me be very clear: This incident will not deter the UK’s commitment to defend Nato, our allies and our interests from Russian aggression.
