May is Wildfire Awareness Month, a reminder that extreme weather and drier conditions mean wildfires are a near year-round, growing threat, even in areas where they were not commonplace before. As a result, we've developed a crucial partnership with American Red Cross of Colorado to help deliver wildfire prevention guidance and home safety information, supporting families across Colorado. On Saturday, May 23rd, the Denver Fire Department’s Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Team will be conducting a Smoke/CO Detector Installation Initiative from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM in City Council District 8, which includes the Montbello area of Denver. After significant snowfall causing widespread damage to power lines, power has been restored to more than 75,000 customers since midnight.
