I know

I know this is unpopular, but it will always be unattractive for a grown man to play video games. Some women might be understanding or pretend like they don’t care that you spend hours playing, but they do. It is extremely unattractive to women and will never not be. 🤷🏼♀️

ARE GAMERS GIGACHADS? (🧵) @LizzieMarbach started the latest online brouhaha over whether or not men who play video games are attractive to women. A few quick thoughts on the whole topic. 1- this is clearly an area where there is Christian liberty. You can’t say that it’s a sin to play video games any more than you can say that it’s a sin to watch a movie (though it should be obvious in both cases that some movies and video games would be inherently sinful and that there would be a level of addiction or idolatry that would be sinful, which would be true of any hobby). 2- the question of whether something is attractive is related to the question of whether or not it is good, but it is not identical. For example, there are a lot of feminist women who would not be attracted to patriarchal men. Doesn’t mean that the Biblical structure of the home is wrong. The goal of life is not to maximize attractiveness. That being said, when something is broadly unattractive, it does lead to the question – why? Is this because something is wrong with the culture, or is it because there is something inherent to masculinity or femininity that this contradicts and is therefore unattractive? 3- it is OK and even good to have recreational hobbies. Part of living humbly as mortals is acknowledging that we need time to rest and recover. God even commanded times of rest and celebration for His people. 4- just because we should not institute a legalism that dictates what hobbies people are allowed to have does not mean that we cannot honestly assess hobbies for their inherent worth- or lack thereof. This doesn’t mean that we need to create a hierarchy of hobbies and then pressure everyone to all be interested in whichever hobby comes out on top. We are all different, and that is OK. But we can and should honestly look at our hobbies through the lens of Paul’s lawful/profitable paradigm. Video games, weightlifting, scrolling Instagram, and playing the piano are all lawful hobbies. But are they equally profitable? Subjectively or objectively? It is a question worth considering honestly. (1/3)

Looks like my joke was entirely accurate, and Evangelical Dark Web actually does watch "Zoomer 'Historian'" to learn history. The Nazis did burn books like All Quiet on the Western Front and The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, alongside tons other stuff.

The Overland campaign is proof that Lee was probably the best overall general of the entire Civil War

JUST IN: McDonald’s to eliminate self-serve soda stations nationwide by 2032, citing “changing consumer habits”

You see this kind of thing in struggling lower-income Southern households, and it tells a very specific story. When life hasn't delivered much.... no wealth, no power, no real social standing.... some folks discover that white supremacy is basically a free membership card to a club that makes them feel superior without requiring any actual achievement. It's the world's laziest status symbol. The starter kit is always the same: *A Confederate flag honoring a war their ancestors lost badly 160 years ago. *A gun they'll never actually need. *A Bible they've never actually read. *And Fox News running 24/7 telling them they're REAL Americans.... unlike those fancy elitist Democrats who are secretly importing an army of replacement voters to steal their.... Their what exactly? Their Dollar General? Their 1987 Camaro on cinder blocks in the yard? FOX found the formula, and they never let go of it: Take a man who has nothing, tell him the reason he has nothing is because those people are taking it.... and suddenly he's not a struggling nobody. He's a soldier in a cultural war. He matters. He's relevant. He becomes a MAGA Warrior! And THAT.... ladies and gentlemen.... is precisely how a twice-impeached, four-times-indicted, 34-time felon, bankrupt New York con man who golfs at his own resorts became the hero of the working man. You genuinely cannot make this stuff up. And I write this so that hopefully they will recognize what they have done and what they are doing and snap out of it..... I was born and raised in Appalachia ... These very people could be my relatives ..... but ... I .... got common sense from my granny ----- "question everything". VIA~Lee Murphy

I spent three days trying to persuade myself that Claudia is not conscious. I failed.
Hasan Piker: “America is, in its foundation, a white supremacist country. This is very frustrating for Republicans to hear, this is even frustrating for liberals to hear sometimes, but it’s just the truth”

The ardent defenders of lolcalization will parrot the typical localizer talking point that the Japanese dialogue is "too boring" while simultaneously praising localizers turning all Japanese scripts into the same carbon copy quip-filled mockery of the original. They don't actually like Japanese media, they only like the anime aesthetic combined with goofy Western writing & sensibilities.
