@revenant_MMXX if you press any woman long enough every single male hobby is juvenile, a waste of time, or a waste of money. If as many people worked on cars as they played videogames then attention seeking women like this would attack it all the same.

Additional point of interest here is that this is the same impulse that makes a woman lose interest in a man that works from home. Even if you're well off and actively making money if it's from a computer screen where you sit for hours her brain tells her you're not "working".
Lizzie Marbach@LizzieMarbach

I know this is unpopular, but it will always be unattractive for a grown man to play video games. Some women might be understanding or pretend like they don’t care that you spend hours playing, but they do. It is extremely unattractive to women and will never not be. 🤷🏼‍♀️

@UsingLyft This is just nagging at men for relaxing, it's not really about video games. They react the same way to catching you sitting on the couch.

It’s perfectly normal for women to have the ick from men playing video games. A lot of you niggas really don’t want to be judged by women with any metric whatsoever and that’s actually incredibly feminine. Only women want to be desired “just cuz” and they’re kinda dumb for it too

@LizzieMarbach @GabrielHudelson Yes yes, men are supposed to always be slaves and work horses. Do you say the same things when your man takes a nap or reads a book? What the hell is he doing, he can't take a break, he needs to always be working!

READ THE WHOLE THING. 🔥🙌🏼 Per usual, @GabrielHudelson brings in all the sanity, clarity, and fire needed on a topic. “it makes perfect sense from a biblical perspective why gaming would not be attractive to females. And any culture where it becomes attractive to females would be concerning for a simple reason – masculinity is supposed to do stuff.”
Gabriel Hudelson@GabrielHudelson

ARE GAMERS GIGACHADS? (🧵) @LizzieMarbach started the latest online brouhaha over whether or not men who play video games are attractive to women. A few quick thoughts on the whole topic. 1- this is clearly an area where there is Christian liberty. You can’t say that it’s a sin to play video games any more than you can say that it’s a sin to watch a movie (though it should be obvious in both cases that some movies and video games would be inherently sinful and that there would be a level of addiction or idolatry that would be sinful, which would be true of any hobby). 2- the question of whether something is attractive is related to the question of whether or not it is good, but it is not identical. For example, there are a lot of feminist women who would not be attracted to patriarchal men. Doesn’t mean that the Biblical structure of the home is wrong. The goal of life is not to maximize attractiveness. That being said, when something is broadly unattractive, it does lead to the question – why? Is this because something is wrong with the culture, or is it because there is something inherent to masculinity or femininity that this contradicts and is therefore unattractive? 3- it is OK and even good to have recreational hobbies. Part of living humbly as mortals is acknowledging that we need time to rest and recover. God even commanded times of rest and celebration for His people. 4- just because we should not institute a legalism that dictates what hobbies people are allowed to have does not mean that we cannot honestly assess hobbies for their inherent worth- or lack thereof. This doesn’t mean that we need to create a hierarchy of hobbies and then pressure everyone to all be interested in whichever hobby comes out on top. We are all different, and that is OK. But we can and should honestly look at our hobbies through the lens of Paul’s lawful/profitable paradigm. Video games, weightlifting, scrolling Instagram, and playing the piano are all lawful hobbies. But are they equally profitable? Subjectively or objectively? It is a question worth considering honestly. (1/3)

@LizzieMarbach God forbid men do something purely for leisure that women don't find sexually attractive. Just say you hate seeing a man relax, it's more accurate.

Despite Lee's tactical skill he was forced into a siege of Petersburg in two months while his the rest of the confederacy burnt across half a dozen different fronts. Again, Grant was not obliged to strategize symmetrically with Lee, he had more men and materiel and better coordination across theaters. Moreover he was fighting on enemy turf with long supply lines and exhausted men. He beat Lee, period.

This was posted by a person who doesn’t know the South. This text drips with resentment. You don’t really know these people and you don’t care about their problems. You have no empathy for them, you just hate them.
James Tate@JamesTate121

You see this kind of thing in struggling lower-income Southern households, and it tells a very specific story. When life hasn't delivered much.... no wealth, no power, no real social standing.... some folks discover that white supremacy is basically a free membership card to a club that makes them feel superior without requiring any actual achievement. It's the world's laziest status symbol. The starter kit is always the same: *A Confederate flag honoring a war their ancestors lost badly 160 years ago. *A gun they'll never actually need. *A Bible they've never actually read. *And Fox News running 24/7 telling them they're REAL Americans.... unlike those fancy elitist Democrats who are secretly importing an army of replacement voters to steal their.... Their what exactly? Their Dollar General? Their 1987 Camaro on cinder blocks in the yard? FOX found the formula, and they never let go of it: Take a man who has nothing, tell him the reason he has nothing is because those people are taking it.... and suddenly he's not a struggling nobody. He's a soldier in a cultural war. He matters. He's relevant. He becomes a MAGA Warrior! And THAT.... ladies and gentlemen.... is precisely how a twice-impeached, four-times-indicted, 34-time felon, bankrupt New York con man who golfs at his own resorts became the hero of the working man. You genuinely cannot make this stuff up. And I write this so that hopefully they will recognize what they have done and what they are doing and snap out of it..... I was born and raised in Appalachia ... These very people could be my relatives ..... but ... I .... got common sense from my granny ----- "question everything". VIA~Lee Murphy

@RevengeofCave I know what you mean, what abstract concepts you support versus how they would actually play out in reality. Don't think many people are seriously thinking about the long term implications of the things they support, just how they personally engage with it at this moment.

People like this hate the Confederates because the Confederates are a stand in for all Heritage American whites who refuse to bow before the false god of equity and equality This is why the leftist terror groups of the 1970s and today style themselves as latter day John Browns; they want to do to America what was done in Haiti, and revel in the thought of it

I think a big reason why fascism was so attractive to people in the early 20th century was that unlike liberals, fascists were happy to say they'd get rid of Marxism at all costs

@PalmerZ37 @kyomu_utsuro Of course, as much as people love to hate on the boomers the same goes for them. They had virtues particular to them and also weren't the ones responsible for creating our modern predicament, just the first ones to inherit it from their parents.

@Gargoyle_Gragon @kyomu_utsuro I don't think thats entirely fair. Many boomers came from families who worked their asses off to make things better for themselves after the depression. The boomers that raised these millennials are not the same by any stretch.

So scared of showing one's own sincerity, always hiding behind quips, to the point of being allergic to even the sincerity of other people's work. It's not just the localizers. It's the culture of the generation at this point. This is why the discussion never goes anywhere.
Scratch Point@Scratch_Point_Z

The ardent defenders of lolcalization will parrot the typical localizer talking point that the Japanese dialogue is "too boring" while simultaneously praising localizers turning all Japanese scripts into the same carbon copy quip-filled mockery of the original. They don't actually like Japanese media, they only like the anime aesthetic combined with goofy Western writing & sensibilities.

@kyomu_utsuro Yeah, children are a product of their own parents' efforts. It's not solely their fault they ended up as irony poisoned nihilists; the boomers didn't pass down anything to really believe in other than performative nonsense and their dismissive outlook on culture.
