St Frances de Sales is famously known as the first church in the US to embrace the “spirit of Vatican II” The bishop, after finding out that the new mass would have the priest face the congregation, updated the church in 1969. He considered the stained glass windows behind the sanctuary “distracting”, comparing them to the headlights of an oncoming car, and had them replaced with wood paneling. The interior was whitewashed, statues and altar rails removed. The focus was solely on the priest in this “new mass”. All distractions must be removed. Here is a picture of the altar before and after.

Sadness and uneasiness grow in proportion to the time you waste. When you feel a holy impatience to use every minute you will be filled with joy and peace, because you will not be thinking about yourself." - St. Josemaria Escriva

The Odyssey is the most important conservative film of the last decade. Nolan is openly mocking those who think there’s any importance whatsoever in the cast looking Greek in a film about a psychological journey. The culture wars have taken far too many victims - now too shallow to conceptualize anything beyond a surface level. Few actually go deeper like Odysseus. Most are just wearing the disguises Circe stripped away. We have a full blown chance to recover a civilizational inheritance that has guided people for thousands of years. One that reminds us a society survives only when people are willing to return home to responsibility, sacrifice, and order. However the suitors (or commentators) taking advantage of a civilization in psychological disorder don’t want their audiences doing this. They don’t want Odysseus to return. The return of Odysseus is the return of rightful order.

Before the Quakers, prisons were just holding places to await corporal or capital punishment Quakers believed "penitentiaries" could impose quasi-monastic discipline on felons & produce sincere reform Nobody believes that anymore but the system coasts on institutional inertia
Cernovich@Cernovich

American prisons are a horror show. I've long held the position that more people belong in jail, but that the current conditions are too inhumane. (The left is right in that regard.) Should improve them and double the population. Right wing and left wing fusion solves this.

Unfortunately, the House just voted to merge the most secretive & sensitive elements of our defense & intelligence apparatus with a foreign government. This bill still has to clear the Senate. Call your senators & representatives and tell them to not support the NDAA until the merger w/ Israel (Section 219) is removed. Senate switchboard: (202) 224-3121
Thomas Massie@RepThomasMassie

Final vote total for the NDAA today which tragically merges our military technology and supply chains with Israel’s. Let’s hope this version fails in the Senate because Section 219 is a betrayal of our sovereignty.

this is interesting… if he was waiting that long to propose, especially if they were having premarital sex, one could just as easily say he was holding onto the possibility of someone better coming along & not respecting her investment into the relationship either, namely (crudely) +1 body/diminished value/purity as a woman. Is that your argument?

@pegobry_en It's not about the risk for adultery. It's about the inappropriateness, the unsavoriness, and the poor aesthetics of it

@GarrettMIII Yes knowing that you’re filmed for an audience pretty significantly lessens the risk of committing adultery!

This is paradoxically why if you ARE a guy waiting for marriage you need to make it clear after attraction is established that you're not going to wait around, because you want to have sex. This not only sexual charges a celibate dynamic but tells you a lot about a woman's interest in sleeping with you. If she's "waiting for marriage" but is in no rush to actually get married, then you are either dealing with a sexual neurotic or a woman who doesn't really desire you. If she is excited by the prospect of a quick marriage though then she is genuinely falling for you. Recklessness always corresponds with passion.
Westside L.A. Guy@WestsideLAGuy

You’re missing the point. Even women who are looking for long-term relationships do have sex early on (within first 2-3 dates) with men they’re genuinely attracted to. It’s important to have sex early on because sex is the only way for a man to know the woman is truly attracted to him and not just using him for free dates & validation.

Women will always defend the indefensible. As if 90% of affairs don’t start with 2 professionals of the opposite sex having drinks together and discussing their spouses. Michael is getting an attractive woman intoxicated while flirting and making her laugh. A woman who is known to have slept with multiple media figures including married men.
Aimee Terese@aimeeterese

Since when did Catholics become frigid, self-castrating, anti-social scolds? They’re media professionals on set having a conversation in which Knowles is affectionately sharing an anecdote about his wife, because she’s always on his mind, even when having a drink with Southern.

The most damaging advice I see women getting is to marry a man who is practically good for them rather than someone they are truly attracted to and find very handsome and charming. You can spot a woman who is not attracted to her man for his essence a mile away. She demands more from him materially. She is unenthusiastic about physical affection. She is less tolerant of his human flaws. She respects him less. Physical attraction is not just “hotness” it is a physical manifestation of a thousand pieces of info your body and mind have subconsciously processed. When you want to sit near a man, find an excuse to touch him, suddenly care how you look a lot more when you’ll see him, these are all signs he’s good for you. Other things like having a job, not being in jail and not being addicted to drugs do matter. But they are the questions you ask AFTER you ask yourself about carnal attraction. Carnal attraction is the foundation of a good marriage. And it is only under the protection and love of a good marriage that people can be good parents and their children can thrive.
